I feel enlightened almost, as I walk through the crowed streets of NYC. I know I did a good job, but how good? I am not sure. I cannot wait to catch up with Hailey though! I know all of the major things, but all of the inside details that I can know now is going to be fun. Coffee Chit Chat, as we used to call them, are going to be a lot better know that we both drink coffee. And have real boy issues to talk about.

I order two iced caramel lattes and chose a little booth by the window. One of our favorite pastimes used to be drinking caramel cocoa and people watch, making up bizzare stories of people who passed by.

*flashback*

I sip my warm mug of chocolate, tasting the sweet liquid on my tongue. "She is defiantly breaking up with her boyfriend." I say, pointing to an angry women in a pencil skirt on the phone.

"Over the pizza they ordered last night!" Hailey adds, giggling. "She says she can't date anyone who likes peppers on pizza."

"Yuck." I exclaim. "Now she is going to work, but little does she know that her new boss is her old boyfriend."

"And she will make up with him and they will kiss."

"You guys are gross and wacky." Ryan says, reaching over me to get a napkin. "I don't understand why we can't go play baseball in the park." He huffs, blowing a little piece of hair out of his face.

"You need a haircut." I say, moving his hair out of his eyes with my little hands.

"And we are going to the park," Hailey adds. "After five more stories."

"But I want to play baseball." He wines.

"Well so do I, but we have to stick together, and I also want to make up another story." I smile to Hailey. "He just found money on the ground..." I begin, pointing to a very happy man.

*end of flashback*

That is one of my most favorite memories. I make a mental note to make a hot cocoa cupcake reflecting that memory tomorrow. Hailey slides right across from me, and I push her coffee towards her.

She pulls out a small brown bag and pushed it to me, "apple cider donuts!"

"Yum!" I open the bag, revealing a warm sugary smell. "So, how have you been?"

"Good, great even." She laughs. "Yea, I've been great..." She looks out the window dreamily. "Do you remember...?"

"The story game? Yes!" I smile. "Its the first thing I thought of when I sat down."

"I loved that game, we used to come down twice a week and play. And Owen would come too, because we all had to stick together." She tears up a little.

"Lee?" I reach over and grab hand, using one of my nicknames for her when I was really little . "Whats wrong?"

"Do you know how hard it has been for me?" She says, sniffling. "I would wait for Sundays to come around so I could talk to you, I missed this so much."

"I missed you too" I squeeze her hand.

"And then I read your blog, look at your gram, and hear all of your amazing stories and I think I was jealous." She says quietly. "You had all of these adventures and cool friends and opportunities and I was just here, waiting for you to come back and tell me everything."

"Jealous of me? Hailey, I was jealous of you!" I laugh a little. "You are so popular and well liked, and don't even try to deny it, Ryan tells me things on his own." Her mouth which was open to interject, closes, and she laughs a little. "You got to grow up in my favorite place in the world with a loving family and long term friends." I sigh. "I may have many friends, but none of them have the relationship that you do with all of yours. Everything for me was..." I pause, trying to think of the right word. "Temporary."
