chapter 1

*Kayla's POV*
My name is Sofía Kayla Martínez but I go by Kayla. And yes I am Latino. I'm 7 years old. I've lived in this home for 2 year and I want to get out. All of the big kids call me names and bad words. The lady doesn't like me because I don't speak very good English.
Ms.isis-"Kayla come here now."
I walked down and sat with the other girls.
Ms.Isis-"okay we are having some people come over to adopt so I need this place spotless. Got it?"
Girls-"Yea ma'ma."
We walked away and did our jods.
*Daniel's POV*
So our manager told us that it would help our career if we adopted a child. And he said preferably a girl between the age 5-10. Jack Zach and Jonah are all pretty happy because they have younger siblings. But me and Corbyn don't. Well we do but they are teenagers.
Zach-"this is different. How am i gonna take care of a child when I'm still one?"
Daniel-"we'll figer something out."
We made it to the home and a short lady came out.
Ms.Isis-"hi I'm Isis are you the guys looking to adopt between the ages 5-10?"
Jonah-"yes."
Ms.isis-"okay follow me." We walked in the living room I guess. We went to talk to different girls, but one caught my eye when we first walked in.
*Kayla's POV*
(before the boys came.)
I was done clean so I went to my room and changed in to black legging and a gray shirt. I don't have very many colors in my wardrobe and I don't think I ever will. I walked down with my age group. I stood at the end of the line because I'm the smallest. Then five men walked in. There was one who had red cheeks one who had white hair one who had noodle hair one who was wearing a hat and one with a tooth gap. The one with the tooth gap walked over to me.
Gappy-"hi I'm Daniel. Whats your name?"
Kayla-"Kayla."I said for him only to hear.
Daniel-"thats a really pretty name. How old are you?"
Wow this guys is asking a lot of questions.
Kayla-"7."
Daniel-"I'm 18. But don't tell anyone." He winked and smiled. Then the guy with white hair called him over.
*Daniel's POV*
Kayla is really sweet and her hazel eyes are beautiful.
Jack-"did anyone find one."
Daniel-"I did the little one on the end."
Zach-"she really cute."
(I like a puppy cute.)
Jonah-"are you sure?"
Daniel-"yes."
Corbyn-"okay let's get the paper work."
Isis-"okay did you guys find one?"
Jonah-"Kayla."
Isis-"Sofía be carefull with that one she doesn't like people to hug her or she doesnt like new people and she has a tendency to try to run away and she can't take yelling poor thing crys her eyes out."
We filled out the paper work and waited in the living room.
*Kayla's POV*
I was in my room reading when ms.Isis walked in.
Ms.isis-"Kayla pack your stuff."
I nodded and packed. I didn't really have that much stuff so I only had a book bag full. In it was my clothes and my cat plushie and a blanket that was mines when I was a baby. I also grabbed my backpack for school. I walked down and saw the boys for earlier.
Daniel-"Hey you ready to go?"
I nodded and took his hand. This is the closest that I have ever been to anybody in a long time, it feels weird. We got to their car and I sat in Daniel's lap because I couldn't sit on the seat. We made it to their houes and we walked in. Daniel walked me to the living room and sat me down.
Daniel-"okay so this is Corbyn Zach Jack and Jonah."
Them-"hi Kayla."
I waved. I didn't want to talk because I didn't want them to hear my broken English.
Corbyn-"so do you feel comfortable sleeping in a room by your self or do you want to sleep in one of our rooms?"
Now I have to talk.
Kayla-"by myself."
They nodded and walked me to a room at the end of the hall.
Jack-"our rooms are right here if you need anything tell us okay?"
Kayla-"okay."
Zach-"goodnight."
Kayla-"goodnight."
They walked out of the room. Good they didn't try to hug me. I unpacked my stuff and went to the bathroom and cleaned up. I got ready for bed. Corbyn and Daniel walked in.
Daniel-"Hey you ready for bed?"
I nodded. He tucked me.
Corbyn-"tomorrow do you want to go shopping?"
Kayla-"sure,buenas noches."
Corbyn/Daniel-"goodnight."
They smiled. I went to sleep.
*next day*
I woke up and changed into some legging and a hoodie that one of the other girls couldn't wear and a t-shirt.
Jonah-"hi girly."
Kayla-"hi."
Joanh-"you ready to go?"
Kayla-"yea."
I walked down and the rest of the guys were there. We went to the mall and the boys bought me a lot of things. Corbyn helped me with shoes and then we went home.
Jack-"so did you have fun?"
I nodded.
Zach-"did you want anything to eat?"
Kayla-"No thanks."
The nodded and helped me to my room.
Jonah-"okay you wanna watch a movie?"
I nodded. We walked down and we watched a Disney princess movie I think it was Frozen. The movie was over and the guys left we with Daniel.
Daniel-" Hey Kayla do you know a lot of English?"
Kayla-"some but when I talk it some words come out wrong." I said just above a wishper.
Daniel-"I understand."
Corbyn walked down. He sat nexted to me.
Corbyn-"do you want to go by Kayla or Sofía?"
Kayla-"kayla."
Corbyn-"okay."
How did he know my first name? Oh yea they looked at my files. But why would he ask? I was getting sleepy, and with out knowing it I was a sleep, but that night i didn't sleep well....
