chapter 3

I went up to my room and Jack helped my find my swim suit.it was black and white with yellow bows. My legs were out they had a few cuts on then. I was beat badly by my step dad I never knew my real dad he died before I was born. My mom told me when she wasn't screaming at my real dad that he had big beautiful hazel eyes like me. And that I got my curly hair from her. When i became four my step dad pushed my mom down the steps in our house I would try to run but never make it far. I fell and hurt my legs really bad then he found me and beat me very very bad leaving cuts and and marks on my back and torso.
Jack-"Kayla you okay."
Kayla-"yes."
I pulled my hair up and walked out.
Jack-"you did your hair?"
I nodded.
Jack-"great job."
We walked to the pool with the others. They were swimming I sat on the side of the pool and splashed water at Corbyn and Zach.
Zach-"okay that's it."
He splashed water at me. Then I jumped in the pool and swam to him and got on his back.
Jack-"Hey she said she couldn't swim."
Kayla-"I did.English us such a funny language."
The boys and I laughed. We played around some more.
Corbyn-"okay time to go in."
We got out of the pool and dried off and went inside. I went up and took a bath and washed my hair. Then got into some gray legging and a gray shirt. I walked down to the living room and sat in there and sang a song that my mom would sing.

I started crying thinking bout my mom. I miss her so much. She died when I was four. I was dumped in the home weeks after. My step dad hated me I dnt know why.
Corbyn-"kayla you okay?"
Kayla-"yes."
Corbyn walked over to me.
Corbyn-"do you want to talk about it?"
Kayla-"not right now."
Corbyn-"tell me when your ready." I don't think I ever will be ready. I'm scared that if I trust them they will hurt me. He sat by me I really want to hug him but I can't it reminds me to much of my mom she would hug me everyday before I went to bed every morning when I woke up and all in the day. Corbyn wiped a tear from my face.
Kayla-"my mother would do that when I was sad."
Corbyn-"I'm sorry did you not want me to do that?"
Kayla-"it's fine. I just miss her so much."
Corbyn-"I know you do I miss my mom but when ever I think of her and when I'm sad I think of all the good times with her."
Kayla-"I don't know a lot of good things about my mother other than she would sing to me and hug me."
Corbyn-"was it the song you were sing earlyer?"
Kayla-"how did you know?"
Corbyn-"I hear you."
Kayla-"Corbyn can you not tell the others about this?"
Corbyn-"you have my word. Can I get a hug or-"
I huged him he huged back. I pulled away and he wiped another year away.
Corbyn-"come on let's get something to eat."
We walked to the kitchen. We ate noodles the others came down.
Daniel-"Hey you."
He tickled me, I laughed and he stoped.
Daniel-"so Riley is coming to teach us a few things on how to do hair and other stuff."
(I'm not sure if they know a person by that name but you can fill your name In that spot.)
Corbyn-"okay kool."
Kayla-"She sounds nice."
Corbyn-"you seem happy to meet her but she likes hugs."
Kayla-"I dnt like hugging new people."
Daniel-"okay we will tell her."
Kayla-"thanks Daniel and Corbyn."
C/D-"Your welcome." We hear the door bell ring. Zach opened it.
Riley-"hi Zach where is she?"
He walked to the kitchen with her. She looked really nice and she was tall.
Riley-"hi I'm Riley."
Kayla-"I'm kayla hi."
Riley-"do you mind if I steal the guys for a few minutes?"
Kayla-"no."
Riley-"okay."
Her and the guys walked out and I went to my room and played with a few of my dolls that the boys got me. I didn't have any friends at the home so I would write in a book and believe I had friends at the home. The other girls didn't talk to me becuz at the time I wasn't good at speaking English.
Riley-"Hey kiddo will you come down for a sec."
I walked over to her and she walked with me down stairs with the guys.
Riley-"okay so you guys know how to pull up hair but here's a braid." She started to braid my hair it felt good and made me sleepy. When she was done the took it out and let the boys try. They went one by one making me eyes really heavy.
Jack-"you can't go to sleep."
I yawned.zach was the last one and after him they let me take a nap.
*Corbyn's POV*
I really want Kayla to open up to us and when she did in the living room with me I knew I got a little bit of her trust. That night when I took her to her room and changed her into her pjs I saw the marks from her past. I felt so bad for her. When she told me all that stuff about her past I wanted to tell the others but then I made a promes and I don't want to lose her trust I dnt want that hug to mean nothing to her and see my as a lier....
