Ryan was being cornered into a room as a giant hovered over his body casting a dark, gloomy shadow around his outline. The shadowy figured leaned down and Ryan could feel it's breath on his mouth. Light and airy. The figure leaned in and-
Ryan woke up with a start to the delicious smell of bacon running throughout his small, one room apartment located in the center of Los Angeles.
'What?', he thought to himself drowsily. 'A robber is making bacon in my apartment?'
Immediately awakened by the thought, Ryan started freaking out. With the idea of a robber in his apartment pushed to the front of his mind, he completely forgot about the figure in his dream. He couldn't fight a robber! 'Even worse', he thought to himself. 'What if it's a ghost?!'
*Now, to a reader, this may seem ridiculous. A ghost making bacon? Unthinkable! But to Ryan, this wasn't so far fetched as you may think.*
Ryan peeked around the corner as stealthily as he could with his pillow in his hands ready as a weapon, when he saw a pair of legs enter the room. Was it a giant? A monster? Ryan started shaking with fear. All he could see of the creature was it's tall, hairy legs. He slowly stepped around the corner to get a better look as he came to see that it was only his friend, Shane.
Ryan's thoughts once again drifted to the figure in his dream, where Shane and it shared similar features. Ryan immediately blushed as he realized that Shane was indeed the figure in his dream. But, he pushed the realization aside quickly without another thought.
"Shane." Ryan said as more of a question than a demand. Shane looked down to Ryan, startled to see he was awake this early. After exploring The Subterranean Terrors of the London Tombs, the previous day, Shane thought Ryan would be exhausted.
Shane walked over with a platter of food ーconsisting of sunny-side up eggs, and bacon forming a smiley faceー and lightly pushed Ryan back to his bedroom and onto his bed. "Don't bother to get up. Relax and eat your breakfast." Shane said. "We have a big day ahead of us."
Before Shane left the room, he turned back around and answered the question that was on Ryan's confused mind. " And I'm not normally this caring, I know, so don't get ahead of yourself. There was extra food leftover from when I made my breakfast." Shane explained.
Ryan smiled. 'Of course' he thought to himself.

After Ryan ate his breakfast, he got up and set his plate down onto his dresser. He let out a big yawn peeked around the corner to see Shane cleaning the kitchen. Ryan gulped. He knew there was no hope. He knew Shane didn't share the love Ryan had for him. Besides, Shane was engaged.
Ryan closed the door to his bedroom as he looked at his bed with a frown. Thinking about relaxing a little more, Ryan decided to shower and clean himself up. He changed and wrapped a towel around himself while he walked out the door. Shane, secretly watched him through the reflection in the microwave. An action Ryan didn't seem to catch.
Ryan entered into the bathroom, shut the door, changed, and stepped into the shower. He hummed a tune to himself, thinking about Shane during every second due to him being just a room away. "Why can't I stop?", he thought to himself. Shane didn't leave his thoughts.
Aggravatingly thinking of Shane, Ryan turned off the faucet and reached his hand out to the towel rack. 'Where was the towel?', he thought, feeling around a little more. "Oh no.", Ryan whispered. He couldn't find it.
Ryan started to panic. He stepped out the shower, cold. He looked everywhere. In the cabinet, under the sink, but there was no towel. He stepped back into the shower. He knew this was definitely the works of a.. Ghost. What was he supposed to do? Ryan couldn't run out there naked. In his head, he thought that Shane took the towel, but he knew he didn't.
Ryan then shouted hesitantly, "Shane! Can you bring me a towel?" But Shane ignored him. Ryan cried out again as Shane smirked from the kitchen listening to Ryan's quiet pleas for help.
'There was only one more option.' Ryan thought to himself. Ryan then quickly ran out of the bathroom with the small, hand towel covering what he could. Shane turned around quickly, laughing and laughing as he saw Ryan. Ryan froze. He was so embarrassed because he had such a tiny... towel covering himself.
Ryan turned to the left. Just a quick glance, and he saw it. Ryan spotted it, out of the corner of his eye. It was a sliver of the towel appearing out of Shane's backpack.
Ryan ran to his room without another thought.
