The Break In

It was an everyday occurrence. The two talking, laughing, and exploring side by side. But today, the duo changed. 

Ryan got dressed. He put on some jeans and a T-shirt, and walked out the door, after admiring himself in the mirror. 

Shane was still chuckling on the couch as he re-watched the latest episode of Buzzfeed Unsolved. Ryan heard the choppy noise from inside his room and walked out with a uneasy look on his face because he thought he knew why Shane was laughing. He thought Shane was laughing at the towel prank pulled earlier.

As he rounded the corner, Ryan looked down in embarrassment.  He couldn't make eye contact with Shane after that, 'towel incident' the previous morning before. Shane began talking, completely ignoring Ryan's obvious uncomfortable stance. "How about we tell that little story on the next Hot Dog Saga? What do you say?" Shane asked, knowing exactly what had Ryan in a trouble.

"Shut up Shane," Ryan said trying to hold back a laugh. Ryan absolutely hated the Hot Dog Saga. They completely changed the mysterious vibe that the Q&A episodes had to hold for the viewers.

"No, no, no. You could be a cantaloupe in the Saga. That suits you." Ryan was nearly smiling now, even though he had no clue what Shane was talking about. 

As Ryan walked out the door he said, "C'mon let's go", to which Shane sprung up off his seat immediately like an obedient puppy. 

The two then went to the car and took a seat. Side by side. Shane drove and Ryan sat in the passenger seat. "Shouldn't you be in the back?" Shane asked with that smile on his face.

Ryan was confused, "What do you mean?" 

Shane laughed, "I mean, aren't you a little small for the front seat?"

Ryan put up the middle finger. He was tired of all the short jokes. Shane towered over him by about two feet which caused Ryan to constantly be picked on due to his height.

Shane started the engine and soon they were off and on their way to the studio. The car ride was full of Ryan dancing in the passenger seat to Kesha's, 'Tik Tok'. Shane subtly watched Ryan dance the whole time with a knowing smile on his face. He enjoyed the view during the drive.

When they arrived to their studio, the studio was locked.

"Oh c'mon on! You're kidding, right?" Ryan whined.

Instead of thinking of a reasonable way to enter the studio (like call someone for a key), Shane decided to make Ryan climb on top of his shoulders.

"C'mon, get up." Shane made a notion to his shoulders.

"There's no way."

"Exactly, there's no way to get in. Well, besides this." Shane insisted.

Ryan, gave him a look.

"Listen, you climb up on my shoulders, jump over the fence, and unlock it from the inside, okay?" Shane explained the plan like he was talking to an infant.

Ryan rolled his eyes at Shane's tone and sighed. In the end, Ryan placed his foot on Shane's hand that was extended out, to give him a boost. Shane ignored the sparks as they touched and Ryan stepped up and jumped onto Shane's shoulders. Ryan was now sitting on Shane's shoulders. 

"How's the air up there Ryan?" Shane jokingly said to him. Ryan now knew what it felt like to be as tall as Shane. He loved it.

Ryan then placed one foot on Shane's shoulder and stepped up onto the other. Shane began to wobble because he had no upper body strength. 'I should work out more', Shane thought to himself with a sigh.  As Ryan rose onto his other shoulder, Shane began to walk back. All of a sudden, he tripped on a rock.

"AHHHHHHH" Ryan screamed as he decreased in height.

It was then, when Ryan landed directly on top of Shane.

There was a feeling that appeared in Ryan's stomach as he gazed into Shane's big, round eyes. He couldn't quite place what it was, but he knew he never wanted to get up from this position.

"Ryan. Hello?? Wake up. You're kinda crushing me buddy. Well, that's not possible because you're like nine pounds but still..." Shane trailed off.

Ryan immediately snapped out of his zone and got off of Shane.

Secretly, Shane frowned as Ryan got off. He missed the warmth that Ryan held towards his body. 

Shane let out a fake laugh. "Well that didn't work!"

Little did they know, this was the start of something new.
