Ever since Ryan and Shane talked about the towel incident, everything was awkward between them. Nothing was ever the same. They didn't have that relationship they once had- the joke and laugh kind. Now, they were even further from their dream relationship. The one that they'd both been secretly longing for.
Shane and Ryan never had their usual game nights every Friday, anymore. Ryan missed those. Of course, he would never admit that to Shane. Their communication was starting to wear down and it was taking an obvious toll on both of them.
They barely talked to each other out of work. What before felt like a true friendship, felt like it was a forced relationship now. It was hard to hide their fake facade on screen as well and if they didn't change soon, their bosses will have to confront them on it.
Shane felt too embarrassed to talk to Ryan. He didn't want to impose the impression that he didn't like Ryan anymore, but that was what was happening. He just couldn't. He couldn't talk to him. The guilt just kept growing inside of him and when he looked into Ryan's dark eyes, it worsened. He was mad at himself. Why did he ever take that towel?
Not one of them knew that if they had just told each other what they did and how they really felt, this would not be happening at all.
You know that feeling when you want to tell someone the truth but it might ruin everything?
Yeah, well so do they.
