AU!Prussia x Reader - Stay by my side

To this day, Gilbert Beilschmidt still clearly remembers the moment he first met ___ ___. He was infamous for being a troublemaker with his friends at school and he would always get into fights because of his smugness, being the arrogant person he is. As result, people tend to distance themselves from him as soon as they see him.

On that eventful day, he had just finished beating up a group of seniors by himself; however, even though he came out victorious, he was badly wounded and, fortunately for him, ___ just happened to pass by that same hallway he was currently in. She flashed a concerned look once she saw him staggering and breathing heavily while leaning on the wall.

Unlike other students, she wasn't afraid of anyone in particular, no matter how fearsome that person may appear. One of her kind traits is that if someone's in trouble she won't think twice to help that person. So, she hastily moved towards the injured albino to help him by putting his arm around her shoulders and subsequently leading him to the nurse office, much to his chagrin.

He kept shouting at her stuff like 'what was she doing', 'leave him be', and 'the awesome him doesn't need any help'... But she simply responded that he is injured and needs help. Thus, she continued to walk towards the infirmary.

After arriving there, ___ scanned the room only to find out that the nurse was nowhere to be found. With a sigh of disappointment, ___ had Gilbert take a seat on a stool and began to treat his wounds silently. On the other hand, Gilbert had given up on shooing her away after seeing how stubborn she was, but deep inside he was thankful for her kind gesture. For the first time, someone other than his best friends and brother showed that they cared for him even if he was an annoying and conceited person.

After the (hair color)-haired girl finished patching up his wounds, she asked if he was injured anywhere else and if he's alright now. Gilbert replied that he is 'awesomely' fine and commented that they were only a few scratches, not a big deal at all, and proceeded to laugh heartily. ___ just sighed at his carelessness, but then she sweetly smiled saying he should be more careful. Gilbert abruptly stopped laughing, he could feel his face turning warm. Then, he laughed awkwardly and said, "Right..."

Just then, he took in all of her features. (e/c) glistening orbs, (l/h) shiny (h/c) hair in (hairstyle). Her uniform was neat and the way she smiled was so cute and sweet. Also, she seemed to emit a gentle aura around her which made him feel like he was seeing an angel in front of him, and that thought made him blush profusely causing him to cover his cheeks with the back of his hand in embarrassment.

From that day on, Gilbert wanted to repay ___'s kindness so he started following her around to help her in any way he can: he would carry her things even if she didn't ask him to; reach for the things that she can't get; walk her home saying that he would fend off suspicious people using his 'awesome moves'; buy her something in case she needed some refreshments when she's busy with important things; and, other sweet actions. He helped her around so much, they were practically always together. Since he was constantly following her around, he gradually stopped fighting with other guys at school which greatly pleased the teachers.

___ did understand that he wanted to repay her, but she felt like he was overdoing it. She even shamefully admitted to herself that she thought Gilbert was acting like a sweet boyfriend and if he somehow came to know that, he would surely laugh at her for thinking about such a ridiculous thing. Even so, she really was happy to see the sweet and gentle side of Gilbert no one has probably seen other than his close friends and family. It made her think that she was one of Gilbert's most important people in his life, and that thought made her extremely happy.

Currently, ___ was sitting in the library doing her homework with Gilbert by her side. When Gilbert offered to get her the books she needed and left to fetch it, she brought out a few cash and coins, discreetly took his wallet and placed the money in there while he was busy scanning the shelves. Afterwards, she hurriedly placed the wallet in his bag again. Gilbert came back a few moments later with a few books in hand, seemingly unaware of her actions a few moments ago.
