I hate it. I hate how meek and fragile this guy looks. How irritating!

...was what you were thinking while glaring intensely at the quiet Japanese boy, Honda Kiku, from the corner of your eyes who was your classmate and, unfortunately, also your seatmate. You didn't really know him that well because you just noticed his existence a couple of hours ago in the garden.

Why do you hate him you ask? Actually, you should know that yourself! Just kidding! The truth is you've always hated people who were weak. Ever since you got bullied in grade school, you decided to become stronger and tougher to beat anyone who dares to hurt you again. As a result of all your efforts, you were successfully able to scare not only bullies but also everyone else around you, which wasn't what you intended to happen, but you shrugged it off. However, every time you see a weak person it reminded you of your past self, making you extremely irritated so instead of keeping your anger inside, you direct it to the weak person in front of you.

But no worries! Despite always putting a cold and rough appearance to everyone, there were still some people who weren't afraid of you like your strong Hungarian friend, Elizaveta Hédérvary, and your intimidating Belarusian friend, Natalya Braginski. Some, on the other hand, became your friend after showing them how kind and caring you actually were, and the petite Erika Vogel was a perfect example. You didn't particularly dislike Erika because she always did her best on everything she did, despite being physically weak. As you came to know her, she demonstrated to have a strong will and determination, which you actually admired.

While scrutinizing "Honda" better, as to how you like to refer him, with hate evident in your eyes, your friends teased you on how 'intense' your staring was and they hinted that you might actually "like-like" this guy. You blushed slightly and glared fiercely at them while muttering something inaudible, clearly annoyed at their unnecessary side-comments, but they figured that it was probably a few curse words, not that they mind though; they were used to it after all.

"But seriously ___, stop glaring so hard at him. He might start to melt," Elizabeta whispered jokingly.

"You shouldn't judge him too quickly, ___," Erika reprimanded you softly with a frown.

"Or you can just ignore his existence like before," Natalya calmly suggested which you thought was a good idea but...

...somehow during your chemistry period, you and Kiku were assigned as partners for a project due tomorrow. It was a simple research about the periodic table; nothing hard, really. You didn't bother to face him and discuss the project either. He did try to get your attention, but you purposely ignored him and focused on the cell phone in your hand, careful so the teacher would not confiscate it.

After coming to a conclusion that you have absolutely no plans to collaborate with him, he simply sighed with a disappointed look and gave up trying to form a conversation with you. And here he thought it would be the perfect occasion to talk to you. What a pity.

Unexpectedly, he took a liking to you after your short meeting near the garden at lunch, which was odd since back then you rudely shouted at him for not paying attention to the road; even though you were the one who actually bumped into him, but you were too stubborn to say sorry. He was startled at first but then his face became emotionless as usual and, without a second thought, he apologized with a bow. You immediately got the impression that he was a person who gets pushed around a lot.

After that, you stomped away from him; your face fuming with anger but at the same time you were hoping that you hadn't squished the carton of milk and sandwich in the plastic bag you were holding in your arms. You carefully moved towards the deeper end of the large garden behind the school.
