“aaaaaaaaa” I scream.
“GET HIM” the mean looking guy yells to his friends furiously. His angry face makes veins visible in his forehead. It seems like it may pop anytime soon.
“Wow, look at him run” Says Neal with a cheerful tone.
I look behind me. At least 4 guys were chasing me. Their footstep echoes, piercing through my ears.
I look further back, fixing my vision. I see Gabby walking towards Neal. I bit my lower lip; quickly turn back my head forward and RUN LIKE HELL.
I feel a tight grip holding my heart about to crush it to pieces, and I feel my stomach clutch every step I take. I look behind me again. Sweat beads are running through my whole body.
Those guys are getting closer to me. I force my legs to run faster. There’s a tingling feeling on the tip of my toes. I don’t know where that comes from. I fastened my pace, my legs are really screaming right now.
I run towards the crossroad. My head starts to feel funny. 3 more seconds until the red light. I dash the zebra-cross like crazy.
I look behind me, they stop. I look to my left, a bright light which is blinding shot through my eyes. Oh god, a car! A Black, smooth, sports car. It’s so fast; I think it’s about 130 KM/hour.
Time feels slow now. The car, it’s really fast, if it hit me, I’m done for. Should I go back, but, they will catch me. If I stop, the car will hit me. I clench my fists, sweats are covering it.
What should I do…? I got it!
Thanks to the running momentum, I have this crazy idea. Now, the car is about 10 meters from me. Here we go. I put all my strength to my feet and jump. Yeah, you heard me, jump. My body feels like flying.
I jump over the hood. The windshield doesn’t hit me but the rear-view mirror does. I spin and land on the sidewalk. Rolling over and hit the trash can near the lamp pole. My head hurts, I reach my nose and, it’s bleeding. Not bad though, only a little. Well, at least I made it one piece.
I stand on me feet. I can hear them yell “split up!” then one of them across the road raise his arm at me at raise his mid… oh now that’s rude. I don’t care anymore; I go back to running for my life. I can hear my footsteps thumping the ground.
Every step I take my foot sole gets hotter and hotter. Nevertheless I keep my pace.
Then, I turn on the corner and go in this alley. Uh oh, wrong way. It’s a dead end. All I see there is a broken, 2.25 meters long pipe and plastic bags everywhere.
I stop my run; Standing there. God, my feet are killing me. If that’s not enough, I turn my head around and… one of them found me.
Oh God, what should I do? If I don’t do anything I’m done for. The same thing will happen if I fight them. But I can’t just dodge this guy and run forever. I’m not an athlete you know.
Wait… THAT’S IT. I go back to take the broken pipe.
Before I even act, he says, “You wanna fight us, jerk”
“Not exactly” I reply.
I point the broken pipe’s sharp edge at him and propel myself to him.
“wa… wa… wa… Wait. Hold on man” He says.
His angry and furious face suddenly changes to a scared, will-broken face. I don’t care, I keep running towards him. He runs back to the road, fast.
As I arrive at the sidewalk, I change my running route. I run towards the wall as fast as I can. Oh man, I can feel it again. The heat on my foot sole every time I step to the ground.
