15 minutes left to class. I’m in a big trouble if I’m late in Mr. McMaster’s class again. I jump through fences, dash around a few students. 12 minutes left, I pick up my pace and… “HOLY SHI…” Before I can finish my sentence I already bump into someone. The weird thing is, he/she just fall and stumble while I roll a few meters away. That hurts.

The person I bumped stands and says “Who the hell bumped onto…” before she finishes her sentence, and after she looked at me she say “Well, well, well, who do we have here?” I look up. I see a girl about my age. She has a dark brown hair, brown eyes, and medium size lips. Her not so smooth looking face and a little mole between her ears and jaw.

Right that moment I reply her, “Hey Gabby”.

“It’s Gabriela, GA-BRI-E-LA” she exclaim.

“What’s the matter, it’s only a nickname that I and Neal give to you” I reply.

“Well, I don’t like it” she says while closing her eyes and turn her head like she doesn’t care.

“Mind lending me a hand” I ask.

She step forward and hold my hand while pulling me up to my feet. Then she ask, “What happen to you, we just bump and you roll a few meters from me. I’m a girl, you should’ve been stronger than me”

Yeah right, this girl have been taking lesson of karate, tae kwon do, boxing, and even MMA (mix martial arts). All that when she was still in fifth grade. Then I look at my watch and… “Holy crap! 8 minutes left?” I yell.

“Then what are you waiting for?” she reply

For a moment we exchange looks, and then we both run to class. Yeah, she has the same class as I am.

“So Dan, why are you late” she ask

I answer “Well that’s because…” then I remember. The explosion screams, falling debris. Suddenly, a car drives towards me. “Holy shi…” I quickly jumped to the left, nearly hitting the pavement.

“What the… Dan! What happen?” Gabby asks?

“Th…Th…The car. It almost hit me.” I explain.

“What car” she asks, again.

I look around. No car. Hell, not even a motorcycle.

“Come on we’re almost late” Gabby exclaim.

I get back on my feet and we continue running.

Finally, we made it, with only 2 minutes to spare. Then I can see Neal sitting in the front row and he’s waving his hands to me. So I quickly walk and sit next to him. The classroom is already full.

“Damn man, you’re almost late” he says.

“Well, That’s because…”

Before I can finish, the door open. And no surprise here, Mr. McMaster has arrived.
