Yet another piece of paper hit the back of my head, and at this point, I was ready to punch Blake in the damn gut. Ever since he started pestering me on the first day of school, I keep getting attention drawn to myself. Mainly because he was the loner who didn't like anybody; keyword: was. How everybody came to the conclusion that the new Ruby Wattson and Blake Tylers were the badass duo of the school, I don't know.

*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

I was rummaging around in my locker when all of the fucking sudden I was harassed by that je- Okay, maybe he only pinched me, but I still say harassment.

"Blake, leave me alone," I growled, turning and slamming my locker door shut, "I'm pretty sure I could sue you for harassment!"

"Well," He started, his usual cocky smirk making its way onto his face, "You intrigue me, Ruby Scarlett Wattson. Therefore, I won't be leaving you alone anytime soon."

The bell rang, and I looked up to the ceiling, praising the high school gods, "Saved by the bell," I looked back at him as his smirk dropped and was replaced by a frown.

"Oh well," He shrugged, wandering off in the direction of- no. Oh no no no.

I can't have my next class with him!!

"Tylers," I called after him, running up to his side, "This is my next class."

He cocked his head, "What's your point?"

"Last time I checked, you weren't in it with me," I snapped, waving my schedule in his face.

"Last time I checked, schedule changes were a thing," He snapped right back, mocking my words.

"You haven't left me alone since I threatened Samantha," I grumbled, "Why must I be so interesting?"

"Oh come on Little Red," He smirked, wrapping an arm around my shoulders, "Don't be like that. Oh, and I was wondering something. Do you even have any friends?"

"What the hell is that supposed to mean," I glared up at Blake, shrugging his arm off.

"It means I always see you alone," He nudged my arm, making a pouty face, "Are you so bad at making friends nobody will even try to talk to you?"

"First of all, everybody here is an idiot and I don't want to be friends with any of them," I crossed my arms, "Second of all, you talk to me every fucking day, sadly."

"I'm hurt, Little Red," He placed a hand on his heart, whining.

"Would you stop calling me that?"

"Sure thing, Little Red."

"...Madison and Jeremy, Layne and Zack, Summer and Will, and," Ms. White -our teacher- was listing off pairs for some project we were doing and was just finishing up when the worst thing that could ever happen happened, "Ruby and Blake."

I glared to my right -where the jerk had decided to sit- and watched him grinning stupidly. I shot my hand up but didn't look away from Blake, "Must I work with this asswipe?"

"Ruby, please refrain from swearing in here. And yes, you must work with the asswipe," She replied, causing the guys in the glass to snicker and the girls to be shocked.

Of course, they'd be surprised; he has all of them falling at his damn feet. I'm one of the only surviving members of the female species that hasn't been brainwashed, and I need to hold that title with pride.

"So, Little Red," It smirked, "Wanna come over to work on our beloved project."

"Me? Come to your house? You must be insane, because I swear we were planning on coming to my house," I retorted, watched his face twist into confusion.

"We didn't discuss anything. We've known we were part-"

"Oh Blake, you're hilarious! Hahaha no. You're coming to my house, or you can get zero credit for the project."

He opened his mouth to retaliate, but shut it, knowing he couldn't win this battle.

*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

"Little Red," I heard my 'name' being called from behind me but knew it was the jerk immediately.

"What do you want, Tylers," I rolled my eyes, turning to reveal Blake completely out of breath.

"First of all, you walk fast for such a short little thing," I glowered at him, "Second, I never got your address."

"Then just walk home with me," I stated bluntly, not thinking first.

Shit.

"The hell would I walk with you?"

"Because otherwise, you'll get zero credit."

"Fair enough, let's go."

After walking for about ten minutes in silence, it said something, "Mind telling me how much farther I have to walk in the presence of a demonic demon?"

"Aw, thanks for the compliment," I grinned, patting his head.

"I meant the sun, doofus," He rolled his eyes, then perked up when I led him up the driveway and to the front door.

I went to open it, but thankfully, the door was locked, "Jake, you home," I called, but was given no answer.

"So are we locked out," The idiot asked me, leaning against the wall.

"Of course we are," I responded sarcastically, as he cocked his head. I'm assuming he looked confused because I had tossed my bag down on the ground and started climbing up a tree that overlapped the overhang of the second floor.

"Little Red, if you die, I wasn't here," He set his bag down beside mine and watched me continue to climb up, and jump over to the overhang. I opened up my bedroom window and climbed in, leaving Blake on the ground.

"Excuse you, Red," He yelled, then stopped his protests when I unlocked the door from the inside and opened it.

"You're welcome for helping, it was no trouble at all," I rolled my eyes sarcastically before grabbing my bag and dragging Idiot inside.

"It's been a while since I was here," He nodded, immediately tossing his bag down on the couch.

I spun on my heel, pointing an accusing finger at Blake, "You did know my address and you did know exactly who I was talking about on the first day of school!"

"I-"

"Don't even try to deny it," My voice cracked, "You loved her. I know it. She knew it. You know it."

"'Knew'. Past tense?" He took a step closer to me, causing me to defensively take one back, pity pooling in his eyes.

"She'll come back," I said, more trying to comfort myself than him, "I know it. I know she will."

"Red, I didn't want to say anything because I know how bad you're suffering, but you have to understand she might not."

"Yes she will," I let a few tears escape, but immediately wiped them away and went back to being happy, "Anyway, were you listening when Ms. White was explaining the project? Because I wasn't," I chuckled sarcastically, turning and rummaging through my bag for the book I was handed.

"Ruby, is she the reason you changed?"

"Blake, I don't want to talk about it."

"The more you bottle it up, the more it builds. The more it builds, the more condensed it gets. We both know it won't take long before it pops."

A/N two uploads in one-day I'm proud of myself. It may only be 15 minutes before its tomorrow, but I don't care, I'm still saying it's the same day. Anyway, sorry it's kinda depressing, and with zero explanations.

Deal with it *le shrug*
