It's been two days since Blake first came over. We didn't get much done besides planning some of our project. He had to leave early, so I spent the rest of the day in bed. My brother and mom didn't come home until late, they said they had stuff to take care of. They say that when they don't want me to know what they were doing.

"Ruby, why are you still in your bedroom? You haven't eaten all day," Mom piped, cracking my door open.

Light flooded into my dark room as I lay face first on my bed, "I may not have eaten, but..." I shook the hot to-go cup in my hand slightly and she sighed.

"Okay, well, I'm going to make dinner. Jake is cooking," She teases, a smirk playing on her lips as my eyes lit up.

"Okay, okay, fine," I gave in, "I'll come eat."

Ruby hopped out of her bed and ran downstairs, plopping down in her seat at the dining room table.

Before she could blink, her brother showed up behind her, "Red, there's somebody at the door for you."

She sighed, reluctantly standing up and walking over to the door. She still had the hot cup in her hand.

There was a teenage boy, maybe a year or two younger than her, smiling a genuine smile at her, "Hello there. Are you Ruby Wattson?"

"Yeah, who's asking?" Ruby asked hesitantly. The boys eyes flickered to the white and green Starbucks cup in her hand, her gray unzipped hoodie with nothing but a black sports bra underneath, and a pair of bright blue sport shorts.

His bright smile faltered and was soon replaced with a scowl, "Great. He's settled on another basic white bitch."

Ruby narrowed her eyes on the stranger, "Who the hell are you, how do you know me, and why are stereotyping me for some blonde bimbo that's the iconic symbol of the American high school?"

"You have Starbucks, no dignity or modesty, and a snarky attitude. You seem pretty blonde bimbo to me," He rolled his eyes at Ruby's appearance, motioning up and down.

"For your information, this is hot chocolate. Also, these are my pajamas. I've been depressed in bed all day and you just interrupted my first meal in days. I'd suggest you drop the act and tell me what you want before you really piss me off," She replied with a crooked grin, watching the boys face drop.

He recovered quickly, and a sad look flickered on his face, "You know Blake. He's mentioned you. You haven't seen him since day before yesterday, have you?" He asked hopefully.

And then it clicked; Ruby had remembered Blake talking about a younger brother, and then she realized he was strikingly similar.

"You're his little brother, huh? You have a completely different persona than him," She nodded, "No, I haven't seen him. He ditched yesterday and left me to work on our huge project alone."

"I'd get used to it if I were you. He tends to disappear a lot. And yes, I'm his younger brother, Nyck," The boy, Nyck, stated.

"He okay?" Ruby questioned, a hint of worry in her voice that even surprised her.

"Don't know," Nyck shrugged nonchalantly, "He's missing."

She sighed, "I have an idea. Gimme your number, I'll call you if it pulls through."

"You've only known him for a few days and you already think you know where he'd be about now?"

"Yeah, what's your point?"

"Eh, he talks about you a lot. I see spark."

"Fuck you."

Nyck gave Ruby his number left, leaving her to find her acquaintance.

- Ruby S Wattson -

I jumped on my bike after telling mom and Jake I had to go. Jake was kind of upset, considering he'd cooked, and mom was worried due to me not eating.

I brushed off their comments and pedaled down the sidewalk, down to the woods where I'd first proved him wrong.

"Blake?" I called out, hearing leaves crunch quietly, "Blake, your brother his looking for you."

Nobody responded, and I heard footsteps behind me, "I swear to god Blake, if you try to scare me I will kick your ass and you know I'm fully capable of doing so!"

"Chill Red, I'm not trying to scare you," The voice paused, "Well, not anymore."

I turned around to see Blake approaching me. He looked tired, depressed even.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked, kind of worried, "You don't look to good."

"Woah, the good girl can observe and care," Blake smirked, and my worry completely vanished.

"Seriously! Your brother showed up at my door, called me a basic white bitch, said I looked 'pretty blonde bimbo to him', and then sent me on my way with his phone number to find you," I narrowed my eyes, "Are you okay?"

Blake was speechless, and I'm assuming it was because of what his brother had said, "Uh, yeah- yeah I'm okay."

"Anyway, you should go check in at home. Also, I was planning on spending my Saturday locked away in my bedroom. This is your fault," I smirked and tapped my cheek like I was thinking, "You're gonna make it up to me."

"Wow, you went from despising me to dirty jokes and favors," He cocked his head, "You're a real mystery, Y'know that Little Red?"

I scoffed at the nickname once again and shook my head, "I made no dirty jokes, and I told you several times to stop calling me that."

He rolled his eyes, "you think I care?"

I sighed, knowing better than to try and get him to stop, "Whatever, let's just go."

"Let's?"

"Yeah. You're gonna bring me with you to check in at home -because I don't trust you-, then you're going to feed me, because I also missed lunch."

Blake sighed and motioned for me to follow. I did so, and hopped in his car, him following suit. He pulled out of the parking lot and sped off down the road, in the direction of, what I'm assuming and hoping is, his house.
