Crossing Paths

Part 1

Barry sat in the courtroom staring directly at Singh. He finally gets to go to trial and justify himself as an innocent man. He turned around to see Iris and the rest of team flash sitting along with the jury. Right now, everyone was waiting for the judge. The door opens and Cecile walks in with another woman right beside her.
"Barry, before we start I want to introduce you to CCPD's newest member Y/n Allen" The short woman takes a few steps towards Barry and lends out her hand to shake while Barry just looks at her curiously. Surely, he'd remember if he had any family members...right?
"Hi Barry, I promise you will not go to jail alright Cecile here knows what she's doing" The lady with the same last name smiles genuinely at Barry and he relaxes, something about this woman was strange he just didn't know what. As Barry came back to his senses he sees y/n go take 2 rows behind him, he finally takes in her appearance and she was very beautiful. Her long hair was into a smooth ponytail with 2 strands framing her face, the pale blue button-down shirt fit her perfectly as her black slacks hugged her curves just right. He jumps slightly as Cecile brings his attention back to her.
"Look Barry I know all of this is really...strange and unfair for you but don't worry I will do everything I can to help you and while we're on the topic I think this would be perfect for you to tell everyone you're The Flash". She smiles like a kid in the candy store but before she could do anything the judge finally enters.
"Think about it" she whispers with a wink before turning her attention to the judge.

An hour in and Barry felt as if the universe was once again against him. While Cecile was making great points everyone still felt as if he was guilty because of the fingerprints found on the knife. He scans the room to see Iris staring back at him and he felt a lump form in his throat. If he didn't win then that means he would have to leave her and the rest of his family once again. He looks at Y/n to see her biting her lip nervously, it's like she was itching to say something right before Barry could look anywhere else she catches him staring and gives a soft smile and Barry nods his head towards her, eventually hearing the judge call for break.
Joe walks up to him while Iris goes to talk to Cecile. "Joe, I didn't know we had a new detective for the CCPD" he whispers and Joe furrows his eyebrows, looking at Barry like he's got 3 heads.
"What are you talking about" He says in confusion and Barry lets out a sigh "Before the trial started Cecile introduced me to her but something's off" He says with a shake of his head. A giggle catches his attention and he turns to his right, where Iris, Cecile, and you were talking.
"her" Barry pointed and Joe looks at the scene
"What's her name" He asks
"Y/n"
"oh well she sounds nic-"
"Allen" Barry finishes and Joe stops talking instantly and turned to look at the woman.
"Are you serious" He asks with disbelief in his voice and Barry nods his head as it was Joe's turn to sigh.
"it's probably a coincidence barr, this trial is messing with your head but don't worry you will be home with Iris sooner than you think" right as he finishes his sentence you and Cecile make your way over to them.
"Barry, Joe Y/n here has some good pointers for the judge, she thinks she can wrap this case up and Barry can go home as a free man" Cecile states and Joe nods while shaking your hand.
"Nice to meet you Y/n" he says politely and Barry saw your eyes water a little right before you relaxed and put on a bright smile.
"Nice to me you too Detective West, Cecile has told me so much about you" you say softly and Cecile blushes as Joe gives her a teasing smile and they both leave to talk privately.
"What are these pointers you have that could make me a free man" Barry asks, he was feeling suspicious. Joe didn't know anything about a new detective and he's usually the first to know plus her last name is Allen.
"Just know I got you barr" She gasp with wide eyes as she realizes her mistake.
"I-I'm so s-sorry" She stutters and he takes a step away from her cautiously.
"Don't worry about it, you probably just heard Cecile call me that" He looks at her expression and she looks as if she wanted to tell him something but left it alone before she put a hand on his shoulder.
"I promise you will be a free man"

The judge enters again and everyone takes their seats. Barry sees you stand up and give him a wink before walking up to the stand.
"Your honor, it was said earlier that Clifford Devoe filed a restraining order against Mr.Allen...so if that was the case why would he be at the Allen's residence and Kidnapping is not a good argument since there was no proof of Mr.Allen actually going to the Devoe's residence" Barry felt the corners of his mouth turn up slightly, the fact that you were the first one to point that out made him loosen up a bit.
"Well detective, based on his advances on Clifford Devoe one would assume-"
"Sorry your honor but this is the house of justice and we do not assume when it comes to justice the sixth amendment states that the accused shall enjoy the right of a speedy, public, and fair trial. Now if there is no valid argument then this man is innocent" you say sharply and Joe and Cecile gave each other a high five while Iris and the rest of team flash were smiling brightly at you.
"Yes you are right Detective but Mr.Allen claims he was with his family that night but if that was correct why did the police find him at his residence with a stab wound in Mr.Devoe's body that has proof of him actually touching it."
"Mr.Allen stated earlier that day him and his wife Iris west were opening wedding presents and that the knife were one of them but it didn't have an address on it but as any other person would...he opened it thus contaminating the evidence with his finger prints and yes I have evidence" Nearby guards gave the judge a white trash bag and you see the judge take out the Ziploc bag with the knife inside.
"Two days after the incident detective west had an investigation set up at the Allen residence and the trash bag filled with wrapping paper and of course the knife had not been thrown out. If someone really murdered someone else they would at least hide the evidence the best they can but this knife here was just sitting on the table and you can clearly see that this knife has no point on it, in order for real damage to be done the knife has to have a point on it but with this only being a butter knife I'd say the murder of Clifford Devoe was a setup. The blood was not fresh when the police arrived therefore someone else murdered this man and left him at the Allen residence which caused the security alarm to go off and Mr.Allen to check out the disturbance only for police to charge in on what seemed like a homicide when actually it was all a fraud". You stopped pacing to look at the judge who had a look of shock on his and everyone was literally leaning in their seat.
"Detective, your saying Mr.Allen was framed"
"Yes, your honor"
"well, now that you say it everything is piecing together so this trial is now over this man is innocent" He hits the gravel and everyone cheers. You see Iris run up to Barry and kiss him and your smile fades. You turn your back to gather all your papers and put them in your brief case, letting out a sigh you speed walk to the exit but you heard someone call out for you.
"y/n, where are you going" Joe asks and you smiled
"I believe my work here is done I have to go, I can't stay here" You say softly and Joe furrows his brows.
"Barry has so many things to say to you y/n, trust me CCPD can wait" he states and you opened your mouth as you looked at Barry hugging Iris. Your gaze flicks back to Joe and you shook your head.
"Joe, I can't seriously just tell Barry that...I'll be waiting" you turned around and Barry sees you walk out the exit, he follows your direction and sees you putting your briefcase in the backseat of your car.
"Y/n where you off to so fast"? He nervously scratches his neck and you swiftly turn around with wide eyes.
"Barry" you say surprised
"I just wanted to say thank you for real, what you did back there was awesome" he looks down at you with a charming smile and you blush.
"It was nothing really but I'll always be there for you barr" you snapped your eyes shut and mentally facepalmed yourself while he had a look of confusion on his face.
"I'm sorry but I have to tell you..." you sigh
"I'm not from here, I'm from the future" you looked at Barry and he has a strange look on his face.
"why did you come here" he asks after a moment of silence
"I can't tell you all the detail barr I wish I could but I can't"
"who are you...my enemy? A hero"
With teary eyes, you let out a shaky breath
