Crossing Paths

Part 3

Joe walks into Jitters instantly spotting Iris sitting at the counter with a cup of coffee and swiping through her phone so he takes a sit next to her, clearing his throat.
"Dad" She says surprised and puts her phone down
"Iris-"
"If you're here to talk about Barry then I don't want to hear it" She says before taking a sip of her coffee and Joe sighs.
"Iris you can't be mad at him"
"And why not" She sharply states as she slams her coffee cup on the counter
"He didn't know either"
"Dad in case you haven't noticed I love Barry okay it took me a while to see it but I really do love him we've been through so much together and we're finally married only for me to find out he eventually marries someone else...how you think that makes me feel" She pauses with closed eyes, trying to get her thought together before proceeding.
"Like you said, love's the only thing we got in this world; without it nothing really matters" She looks away from her father and Joe puts a comforting hand on her shoulder to get her attention.
"Iris, no one knows what's going to happen it's so many possibilities of the future...you don't know maybe her coming here changed things or Barry not going to jail changed things but what I do know is that Barry has loved you before he even knew what the word love meant and he still does so give the boy a chance" He quietly says as he wipes a stray tear from her face before standing up and exiting Jitters.

You and Barry were still talking when you heard an alarm go off
"What the hell is that" you ask, now standing up you look to see Barry in his suit then Cisco and Caitlin come running in.
"Robbery on 34th street Barry be careful" she says while looking at the computer screen
"Y/n stay here alright" before you get a chance to say anything wind harshly blows in your face and he was gone.
Barry comes to a stop as he was now in front of Central City's bank, he sees police cars everywhere. He could see a blue spark through the glass doors.
"Flash you have to get in there, he has hostages" A nearby officer tells him before his walkie talkie goes off.
"on it" Barry says and he phases through the doors. A man turns around and Barry could see the huge nasty scar on his cheek.
"Oh, what a surprise flashy pants have come out to play" His gruff voice makes a chill go down Barry's spine.
"Let these people go"
"I don't think so" He spat and blue smoke forms from his hands and Barry's eyes widen as the hostages start to fall over one by one so he had to be fast.
He runs around the mysterious meta until he gets enough energy to throw a lightning bolt right at him, making the meta fly through the glass and land outside.
Barry pants as he struggles to breathe from the blue smoke that's now in his lungs, he grabs the meta and runs off to Star Labs right before he passes out right in front of your feet.
"BARRY" you scream, getting in your knees so you could flip him on his back.
"Cisco take this meta to the pipeline, Joe help me take Barry to the med bay" Caitlin urges as she grabs Barry's arm and Joe helps you up.
"it's okay y/n he'll be fine, Harry take y/n somewhere so she can relax" Joe says before grabbing Barry's other arm and throwing it over his shoulder. Harry walks over to you and escorts you out the lab and taking you to Big Belly Burger.
"So, tell me Mrs. Allen what exactly does Barry's trial have to do with your son?" Harry asks as he sees you stick a fry in your mouth.
"I thought stopping him from going to jail would help the future but I don't know if it did...I can't be here for long or else the future gets corrupted I just wish I knew what exactly needs to change to save Hayden" you sigh as you mess with the diamond ring on your left hand.
"Hayden?" Harry curiously says
"My son, his name is Hayden"
"Hayden Allen, goes together perfectly" he says in attempt to cheer you up which does a little.
"You know, Ramon can vibe the future maybe he could help" This catches your attention and you look up with furrowed eyebrows.
"Ramon?"
"Cisco"
"Oh"
"Let's go" He puts a hand out for you to take it and you do.
Barry was still asleep when you and Harry came from Big Belly Burger. Iris and Caitlin were talking and Cisco was on his computer probably playing Pac man.
"Ramon" Harry calls out and Cisco looks up from his screen
"Yes"
"We need your help" Soon Harry explains everything and everyone was on board even Iris.

Cisco explains his vibing process and to say you were nervous was an understatement he clearly saw it all over your face.
"Just grab my hand and everything will be fine" He says and you nod, grabbing his hand which instantly triggers his vision.
The meta alarm goes off and Barry suits up as usual, waiting for Cait to give him the location.
"It's Devoe-"Before she finishes Barry already runs out the lab making papers fly everywhere.
"Hello Mr. Allen" Devoe greets and Barry doesn't say anything
"Silent treatment I see"
"What do you want"
"You never learn do you Allen" He smirks as he presses a button and suddenly Barry was stuck in a cell.
"My ascendancy is nearing and you're not going to stop me"
"I will stop you whether you like it or not, my team will find me" Barry challenges which causes Devoe to turn his floating chair around
"If you just so happen to escape my little Meta cell, then your son will die" Barry felt his heart drop at this
"You leave my family out of this damnit" Barry growls as he felt his nostrils flare up
"I don't give a damn about your family Barry, just your son...after all you and your wife have to grieve together" He says before floating away, leaving Barry pounding on the cell.
"DEVOE GET BACK HERE" he screams with another punch to the cell
"DEVOE"
Cisco blinks and let's go of your hand and you look at him with hopeful eyes.
"so?"
"I know what we need to do"
