• hey this chapter might be a little boring sorry, it's kind of her back story and stuff! •

Keisha Townley had felt like an outsider as long as she could remember. Well, until she met Leo Valdez. That semester at the Wilderness School was the beginning to the rest of her life, including discovering that her absent father was a god. Apollo, to be specific.

When she and Leo, along with Piper and Jason, arrived at Camp Half Blood, immediately her best friends were whisked off on a quest, and she was left on her own. Again.

Once it was announced that Jason, Leo and Piper were part of the 'prophecy of the eight,' Keisha presumed she would be left out. But she wasn't. It turns out that she was the last puzzle piece.

So while she spent many moths fighting giants, saving the world and discovering herself, she also spent that time falling (even more so) in live with her best friend.

But there was a problem. Well, problems.

First, it was Hazel. Keisha had to watch Leo swoon and pine after her. It hurt when her and also would be staying up together, as they did often and he would confide in Keisha how he felt, telling her how he would do anything for her attention.

He got over Hazel.

Then, it was Calypso. Looking back, Keisha thought, this one hurt more. Because Leo had known her for such a short period of time, and because she was a goddess. Everytime Leo was looking off into space, or quietly thinking, Keisha knew it was about her. And it was fucking heartbreaking.

How could she compete with a goddess?

There were nights on the Argo II (when she wasn't with Leo) where she would be in either Annabeth's or, more so, Piper's room spilling her heart out and crying an embarrassing amount. They would comfort her, rub her back and give her advice.
"Tell him how you feel," They said.

But she couldn't bring herself to. Leo was her best friend, and she was utterly terrified she would ruin what they had. He was the one person who she felt genuinely understood her, and she didn't want to loose that.

She would tell herself, "I'll tell him eventually, but not yet. I'm not ready."

Then it was too late.

He didn't come down from fighting Gaia, and everyone knew what that meant. Leo Valdez, joker, Son of Hephaestus, Bad Boy Supreme, was dead.

And Keisha Townley was broken.
