Chapter Six
one week later
I texted Zach here and there but it wasn't as much as it was the first day. The only constant thing we had going was I would get a good night call from him. I would tell him how my day was and he would do the same.
The latest news was that they're going on tour in three weeks. I felt super happy for them and knew that this was good for him and the band. I just know I'll miss them dearly.
Zach called me a few minutes ago and said that he wanted to know if I wanted to come over for a bit. I gladly accepted. He said to bring a swimsuit so I picked out a cute black, one-piece bathing suit.
Standing in front of the mirror, I smoothed over the black spandex clinging to my body. I looked over and grabbed a pair of ripped shorts and a large shirt, placing them on my body as a cover up.
Nodding my head in approval, I made my way out of my bedroom. Down the stairs I go, counting each time my bare feet make contact with the cold, wooden floor.
Heading over to the front door, I slipped on a pair of sandals. Then I grabbed my phone and keys from the bowl and headed out the door. I turned around and made sure to lock the front door.
I go to my most recent messages with Zach. Earlier today, he sent me their address since I technically don't know where they or where I'm going in general.
Being in LA truly has been the best decision I've made. I haven't made any friends yet but that's mainly because I'm afraid to go anywhere further than the grocery store. If I get lost it's game over, haha.
A few left and right turns and I end up in a long driveway. Approaching the gorgeous structure, I feel as though I'm at the wrong location. Yet my doubts wash away as I see a shirtless Daniel coming running out to my car, followed by Corbyn then Jack. I laugh at the crazy teens as I grab my purse and exit the car.
"Avery! Oh my it's been forever since we last saw you!" Daniel tackles me in a hug. I smile into his bare neck as I've missed the warmth of my new friends.
"It's only been a week!" I laugh as I hug my new friends. "Where's the other two?" I ask, releasing them from my hold.
"They're in the back with the other guests." Jack piped in.
Others?
"Well lets go then, shall we?" I link arms with Corbyn and Daniel as I head to the front door.
As I made my way into the house, I could feel the beat of the music throbbing on the marble flooring. The place had people in every corners. I was expecting something more along the lines of a social gathering, not a teenage party.
A wave of alcohol flooded my senses and I got thinking as to how often they must do this. They're teenage boys, what do you expect. I scanned the crowd until I saw the exit to the backyard. People were standing on tables, throwing things and doing explicit activities. I never would've thought they would associate themselves with this.
"Hey Avery!" Zach waved at me from the pool. He was leaning on the edge, surrounded by a few girls similar to our age. They seemed to be annoyed that I had taken away his attention. I rolled my eyes and waved back, coming to the pool and meeting him halfway.
I sat down on the ledge, letting my feet soak in the water. Zach drifted up the wall, leaning his arms next to my legs.
"Hey Zach, h- how's it been." I twiddle with the hem of my shorts, afraid to look up and see the girls staring at me.
"It's good....you should get in." He nudges my knees and slowly pulls on my ankles. I shake my head indicating that I don't want. "C'mon, please." He begs.
