Chapter Two

"Hey, we're almost here." I feel Zach tap my shoulder. Slowly I open my eyes but immediately close them again. The sun was making direct eye contact with me.

"Mmmm." I groan and relocate to where my head is on Zach's shoulder. I feel him wrap an arm around me, pulling us closer. Only the armrest wasn't a fan of it.

"Do you have a place to stay?" Zach asks, twisting his fingers through my hair, causing me to fall back asleep faster.

"Yeah, my aunt lives in LA so she helped me rent out an apartment-like-house." I breathe out, wanting to fall asleep again.

"You're gonna live by yourself?" Zach stops playing with my blonde hair, making me annoyed with the sudden stop.

"Kinda. She said that she'd come visit on the weekends to check up on me, I guess." I raise my head, suddenly not feeling so tired anymore.

I look out the window, my eyes adjusting to brightness of the sun. The plane was getting closer and closer to the ground and I felt a smile crawl on my lips.

"Well, I guess I'll have to visit you at some point during your stay. In fact, I could probably helpyoumovein" Zach says the last part too fast for me to understand.

"Help me do what?" I turn back to face him. He seemed nervous which made him look even cuter.

"Help you...move in?" Zach twiddle his thumbs.

"I'd like that." I smile brighter this time. Just then a ding comes from above our heads.

"Ladies and Gents this is your captain speaking, we are now making our descend so please buckle your seat belts. We will be arriving in a few minutes."

"Give me your phone." Zach holds his hand out.

"Excuse me?"

"I'm gonna put my number in yours so than we can stay contacted." He explains. At this I remove my phone from my back pocket and hand it to him. He hands me his phone and we both enter each others numbers.

I feel a sudden jolt and look out to see that the plane has landed on the runway.

"Have you ever been to Cali?" Zach asks, handing me back my phone. I return his to him. I shake my head indicating that I've never came here. "Guess that's another thing I can do." Zach nudges my shoulder.

"Darn, I thought I'd be done with you after unpacking." Sarcasm laced my words and luckily he caught on. A laugh erupted from both of us. He has a cute laugh, one that's contagious and you can't help but to join in.

Another ding comes from ahead and the flight attendant tells us that the plane has landed and for everyone to exit the plane. Zach and I were still laughing up a storm but the looks we were being given made us stop.

Zach stands up and I follow after him as he grabs his things from the overhead compartments. We make our way out of the plane and head to baggage claim. There we retrieve our luggage and head to the exit.

We begin to hear a few hoots and hollers and I turn to where the noise is coming from. I then seen a group of four boys running toward us.

"Uh Zach," I grab his arm, turning him the same way I was facing, "Is that your band?" I hear him take a big sigh before speaking up.

"Yup." He says while popping the "p". The group of boys seem to calm down as they approach us. They take in my appearance and Zach's. Making eye contact with Zach, they wiggle their eyebrows as if they're speaking with their minds.

"I'm Avery Monx, it's uh nice to meet you guys." I cough uncomfortably. I'm being suffocated with testosterone.

"It's nice to meet you m'lady." A guy with curly hair says, taking his hand in mine and kissing it. I'm pretty sure he's Jack but I'm not sure. "I'm Jack Avery. Your name is the same as my last name. That's so cool!" I chuckle at his comment and I mentally high-five myself for being correct.

"Daniel Seavey."

"Jonah Marais."

"Corbyn Besson. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

They all wave as they call out their own names.

"Zach that photo did no justice. Y'all look so much better in person." I nudge Zach, smirking.

"Jet lag is our skin routine." Corbyn says confidently. A lot of the others tend to agree with Corbyn's statement.

"What brings you to LA?" Daniel asks.

"Well, I'm here for music. My manager called me and said that my song Smoke and Fire went viral and was in the top 10 charts on iTunes. He felt it was best it was time for me to -and I quote- "Largen your fanbase.""I shrug, fiddling with the strap of my duffel bad.

"Now you didn't tell me you were famous." Zach scoffs.

"That's because I'm not." I laugh at his sudden mood change. He mumbles something under his breath but I can't quite hear it.

"Well, we're going to head home, where are you headed to Ave?" Corbyn turns around and soon follows the rest of the group. The small nickname reminded me that I needed to call my mom and tell her I've landed.

"I'm headed to my house slash apartment. Gotta unpack." I lift up my bags and follow them to the exit.

"We can drop you off if you want and possibly help you unpack. We had no plans anyways." Jack wraps an arm around me, taking one of my bags and putting it in the back of a car before I was able to protest.

"Wait. I literally just met you guys like 20 minutes ago. How can I trust you won't take me to your lair and chop me up." I hold my hands out, backing up a bit.

"Hun, if you've spent 5 hours on a plane with Zach, I'm sure you'll be fine with us." Jonah opens the drivers door and hopping in.

Zach nods his head in agreement. "I'm the craziest out of the bunch but we all have our moments." Zach adds before opening the backseat door. "So, you in?"

"Why not?" I laugh and get in the backseat. They all seem like genuine people and it's nice to know that we all have the same mindset, sort of.
