Chapter #2- To Be Clear
As I entered the room, the chatter shifted, to include me in the conversations. The girls all greeted me, and I replied, truly happy to see them.
Ariana De Claire was the Academic for Maths. She had beautifully rich, deep brown skin, which emitted a breathtaking glow when the sunlight covered her. Her hair was thick and black and seemed to almost shimmer. She wore subtle makeup, as it was early, and classes did not start for another 3 hours. Her smile lit up the room, as she smiled at me. She was always the most friendly out of our group. We all shortened her name to Ari during our free time and informal occasions. But during formal occasions, we always had to call her Ariana or Miss De Claire.

Most of the girls in our school were from very rich and influential families. Ari had parents who run a fashion house in Paris, but Ariana loves maths, so she did not pursue a career in fashion or design.
Devina Lovett was the Academic for Science. She had cream coloured skin and deep red hair that fell to her waist in voluminous curls. Her body was slender, and her legs were long. She moved as if she was floating. Occasionally she would wear glasses, but usually, she stuck with contact lenses. She always wore black eyeliner, which made her blue-brown eyes stand out. Her makeup was always natural looking, and her choice of clothes was always sophisticated and modern. Her name was shortened to Dev, with Devina or Miss Lovett for formal occasions. Devina was the youngest daughter of a very influential politician.

Hermione Hargreave was the Academic for English. Her loud and bubbly personality added to her extravagant and eccentric look. Her writing style was just the same. Her hair was jet black, and her skin tanned very easily. Her piercing blue eyes looked almost grey. Her smile made others happy. Her look varies dramatically depending on the situation and the circumstances, from sweet and subtly, to stand out catwalk style. Hermione has the most complicated name to shorten, so we all settled on calling her Mione, and Hermione or Miss Hargreave during formal occasions. Her mother is a world-famous author, and this is where Mione got her passion for creative writing and storytelling.

The last set of eyes in the room belonged to the most interesting person I knew. Elsie La-Minnings. She was the Academic for the Arts. She looked absolutely breathtaking. Sparkling in the light, her brown eyes never ceased to amaze me. Her long and luscious hair is always curled to perfection. Her features were small and dainty, but this only added to her beauty.
She was so confident when she spoke to me, it shocks me every time. She never tried to hide, she would never run from her problems when she speaks with me. And I also feel this confidence when talking to her.
I have had the pleasure of knowing her and being friends with her for over 16 years of my life. The times I spent with Elsie, were by far my favourite and most prominent memories. We grew up together. We know each other's secrets, help each other to grow. We are very similar, you see? The secrets we shared restricted us, throughout our school lives. But there is one other thing. We are both Vampires. Not just normal vampires, we have royal blood. The Vampire Queen turned us when we were 2. This is when we met. We are both the same age in the vampire family, as we were turned on the same day.
Everyone calls her Elsie or Miss La Minnings, even at informal events. But I call her El.
El does not know her parents, as they would not accept her after her change into a vampire princess, so my family adopted her and we are sisters, both by choice and legally.
To be clear, El is very scary and mysterious until you get to know her, so not many people are close to her. It just makes it easier for us to stay secret.

Just to let you know, this book is fictional. Any characters names and situations, are not related to real life and are based purely on fiction.
If you were wondering what the Insights were, they are part of a book that I am working on, but they also greatly apply to this story. Hopefully, it will help readers to better understand the emotions in the book. If you would like to read the other book, It is called "Not Just Me". It will be available to read on my profile beginning in Summer 2018 (Hopefully). It is a long dialogue, about the thoughts of a young girl. There are no other 'characters', only the girl's thoughts. It is going to be a deeply emotional roller coaster, and I hope I am successful in portraying the message that I am hoping to.
