Chapter #4 - Who are you to Judge (Part 2)
*Suddenly, a strangled scream came from a nearby alley, turning to Eli, I saw that his eyes have slightly unfocused. Wordlessly, he dashed away to where the sound has come from. He was fast. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I thought that his speed was too much for a human. I sped after him, making sure it seemed like I was struggling to keep up with his pace.
As we arrived in a dark alley, I saw people that I recognised. People that should not be here.*
Devina's green eyes were wide with fear, as her body was paralysed from the vice-like grip the male was holding her with. Mione was collapsed nearby on the dirty concrete of the secluded alley. I could not see her face, as a body was crouched down in front of her, obscuring most of her body from my view.
My eyes flickered quickly to Eli, and I was shocked to see him clench his fists in anger. I could feel these strong emotions radiating off of his body.
I concluded that the strangers in front of me were the two boys that the girls were going on a date with, and this angered me beyond what I had felt in years. They were vampires. And they were killing my friends.
"Run, Lara," Eli said in a voice that was not his own. His eyes were black with rage.
"Werewolf...," I stated in a clear voice, trailing off at the end. His face turned with enough speed to snap a humans neck, as he stared at me in shock.
Suddenly it all clicked into place. He was my mate, so he had to be supernatural. The happy, safe feeling he gave me, the way his scent made me feel. We were made for each other.
"Mate," I said with confidence, looking into his eyes. He looked at me relieved, and happy. Happy that I knew and was not rejecting him. But then it turned to shock, as he realised that I could not possibly be human. I guess the Royal Spellcaster did a good job of masking scents.
A pained whimper brought me back to earth, as my body once again filled with rage at the situation. The taller male holding Dev seemed to not realise that the people interrupting his feed were not human, as he carried on.
"You need to leave, now," Eli said not even looking in my direction, his voice showing emotions of regret and worry. My reactions were not my own, as my power trapped me inside my skin. My vision clouded slightly, as I was pushed further into my own body.
"I shall not do as you tell me to in this situation, Ulric, omega of the Red Sky Pack."
His eyes shot to mine, probably because of my powerful voice, and the use of what I can only guess is his wolf's name and pack. His mouth dropped open as if to start speaking, but I interrupted him.
"This is not a time for questions, my mate,"
He slowly nodded, still with wide eyes and an open mouth.
A warm tingly sensation wrapped itself around my hand and travelled up my arm. I looked down, noticing our recently joined hands, as suddenly my power released me from its unforgiving hold. I could feel it pulsing through me, submitting to my new found control. Just like they said, he supported and stabilised my powers.
Stepping forward to the tall figure drinking from Devina, still holding Eli's warm hand, I spoke.
"Step away, and bow down to me," My commanding voice caused his eyes to widen, but only momentarily. I could smell that he was from the Vampire High Court. The figure then proceeded to reply in a less than respectful manner.
"I shall not let a young girl command me, nor shall I bow down to such a weak creature. I am Lord Baldassare. You may be one of my kind, but you have no strength compared to me,"
A wide smirk spread across his face as he dropped Devina and took a large step towards me and Eli.
"Know who you are addressing, Lord Baldassare before you carelessly insult" his smirk broke, but he continued defying my orders.
"I shall not let you continue to speak to me in that manner, girl, and I do not care who your father is," His eyes changed to a deep red colour as he reached forward to try and grip my neck.
I used my power to paralyse his body, preventing him from moving any closer. My eyes became black, and I could feel my veins straining against my skin, creating silver lines. His face clearly displayed shock and fear, as I had controlled him without moving, or with even a sound passing my lips. My emotions and thoughts had turned darker, after the insult about my family. Small wisps of darkness leaked from my mouth as I spoke.
"This should be fun," I said, smiling from my eyes as a chuckle broke loose. The sound was unnatural and severely out of place, "I shall enjoy this very much."
Lord Baldassare was now shivering with pure terror, as my smile broke onto my face. I was sure I looked petrifying, even to my mate, but I was past caring. As soon as he said his name, i knew who he was and what he had done.
"I will do to you, what you let them do to my sister, but this time I will remember, I will never forget this time I kill." I spat, whilst my eyes widened, more than was natural.
The realisation of who I was, suddenly surged through the mind of the vampire trapped with my power.
"P-princ.." He began to say but my hand swiftly covered his mouth, interrupting.
"You do not deserve to utter my name." I hissed as I brought my hand away from his bloody mouth.
"I- I am sorry," He then muttered.
I casually replied with the same words I had used last time.
"I'm not."
Gripping his neck violently, my powers stripped the clothing off of his body. Slowly I peeled the skin off of his still and red flesh with my mind, as his screams satisfied my darkness' needs. Before I could get further than his hands or feet, I felt my control slipping away, as the hand of my mate suddenly fell from mine.
My other hand gripped the vampire's neck, so fiercely, that the skin and muscle split, causing the head to tumble haphazardly to the dirty concrete floor. My vision started to fail, as my view was consumed by dark clouds.
I saw Elsie's face appear, and just as my eyes completely closed, I heard her shout my name. My body fell on something soft and warm, and from the tingles, I could tell that it was Eli. I led there as my thoughts started to fade, questioning my power.
"Why?"
I asked about the violent murder.
It replied in an eerie teasing tone.
"Who are you to judge, when you started the kill?"

Wow, the whole of chapter 4 is over 2,000 words. I feel so much better after completing the whole chapter. I hope you like how the story is going so far. I know that some of you may see this as a bit fastpaced, but this is not the main part of the story, it is only the beginning.
So what do you think?
Why did Lara know Ulric's name and pack?
Why did Eli collapse?
Whats with Lara and her evil side?
Thank You, Newlights.

VampireWhen people say ' The only way is up' they missed the end. Lara says ' The only way is up until you fall down and die'. In most cases, the extended one is more applicable. But there are those rare exceptions, but unfortunately, we are not all lucky...
