Chapter #5 Just Hold Me -

*I saw Elsie's face appear, and just as my eyes completely closed, I heard her shout my name. My body fell on something soft and warm, and from the tingles, I could tell that it was Eli. I led there as my thoughts started to fade, questioning my power.

"Why?"

I asked about the violent murder.

It replied in an eerie teasing tone.

"Who are you to judge, when you started the kill?" *

Weight pressing evenly on my body was the first thing that I noticed. Realising that I must have blacked out from my overwhelming power, I panicked. What about Eli? And Devina, and Mione? And El. 

Muffled sounds began to get louder and more clear, as my body was healing itself from the shocks. I could not make out words, as I focused on a tingling feeling in one of my hands.

Eli. 

He was here.

He didn't run.

It took all of my strength to squeeze my fingers around what I assumed to be Eli's hand. By the astonished gasps that came, I am sure that they were not expecting me to be waking up.

"Lara?" Eli whispered close to my ears, his voice full of shock and excitement.

I nodded my head as soon as I could, trying to break from the cloud of fog that surrounded me, prohibiting my movements.

"You are amazing," He said, with a hint of awe in his strong voice.

His words seemed to power a fire inside of me that I had been completely unaware of, for my whole life. My eyes shot open and my body quickly moved to sit up. 

A shriek was heard, and I swiftly sent the host out of the unfamiliar room. Without glancing around I also dismissed the other people surrounding the small hospital bed, with a small flick of my hand.

I turned my head to look at my mate. 

Orange and brown danced within his eyes, signalling that both Eli and Ulric were present. I stared into his warm and inviting eyes, feeling safe and content, for some time, until he asked the question that was probably on everyone's minds.

"What are you, Lara?" 

'I don't fully know'. I replied telepathically. His eyes darted around the room, searching for the source of the voice, not realising it was only me.

'It is me speaking.' I told him so that he would not panic or call other people into the room.

"What do you mean? I mean how?" he asked, obviously confused, because usually, only werewolves can have a mind link, and only after mating, or being accepted into a pack.

'Just speak to me in your mind, and I will try and explain things' 

"W.. um like this?" Came Eli's voice, sounding in my head.

'Yes, you picked it up faster than most people' I congratulated him.

"What are you? I mean, not that it is bad" He said awkwardly, panicking slightly that I might be offended by his questions.

'I would never be offended by anything you could ask me, so stop worrying about it.' I explained, and he nodded before I continued, 

'I was changed into a vampire when I was 2 years old. Usually, vampires can only be born in the modern world, but certain vampires have the ability to transform others into vampires.'

"How have you aged?, I thought vampires did not age?" Eli then asked slightly confused.

'Normally they don't, but I am not normal. Elsie and I are special. We are the only two beings to ever be changed by the Queen. I was changed first and was blessed with many gifts. The ability to age until I found my mate was one of them. So I will look like this forever now.' 

I finished speaking with a light chuckle, and Eli gave me a small smile, seemingly warming up to the idea of who I was.

"How long is forever? I mean how long will I get to be with you?" He asked, slightly concerned.

'As long as I live, you will also live, that was another of my blessings. As for how long I shall live, My Queen Mother has predicted my life will exceed 10,000 years.'

He seemed really shocked by this and was struggling to say anything in reply to what I had just revealed. I needed something to make us both feel better so I pulled his warm body close to me, as I said, 

"Just Hold Me"
