After exactly three rings, some one picks up the phone and finally Sarah can here a soul breathe on the other end.

“Fredo..um Alfredo?” a nervous Sarah gives in. She had never spoken to any of Justin’s crew or family on the phone or in person without Justin’s presence of course last night was an exception.

“Yes?” Alfredo’s voice seems to be as cool as she can remember from their last meeting.

“Hey, this is Sarah”

“Oh. Hey Sarah! How are you doing?” the question came out as a flat tone.

“Yeah I’m kinda holding up. I was wondering if you could help me get into the hospital today. I don’t know about the visiting hours and I’m sure that they won’t let me in, ” she bites on her lips before continuing “because they don’t really know who I am but I want to see him.”

She lets out a long breath after having said these words as if ready to hear denial.

“Sure Sarah. But Scooter’s really being very picky about who visits him there and you know we don’t want any drama or –“

“WHAT?!” the words blurt out faster than her mind could catch up with her tongue.

“Gotcha! I was just messing with you. Tell me when you want to go then I’ll make a few calls ahead.”

She felt her chest heave of relief but she could envision Fredo’s face plastered with a huge grin on accomplishing to scare the shit out of Sarah“Damn you! You scared me to death.” She joined him in his laughter. “Will it be okay if I want to go now?” her sudden want to see Justin seemed to have panged in.

“Now? Well yeah it’s okay. I’ll be waiting in the hallway in 15 minutes. Is that fine?”

“Yeah. Thank you so much Fredo.”

"Oh its nothing. See you soon."

The call ended with a beep. The beep reminded one of the many strange conversations she had with Justin about him complaining how much he hated that sound and he would rather have his eardrums taken out than listen to it all the time someone ended a call.

Justin. The thought of Justin itself made her smile.

After smiling like an idiot at her lock screen, which obviously was Justin, she shoved it in her back pocket before making her way to meet Fredo down in the hallway. One her way out she did not forget to tell her parents about her plans to avoid any further outbursts from her mom like the yesterday. Her father seemed concerned about her going out all alone but her mother made it very clear that she was to return back to the hotel by 10 latest.

It was already 2 in the afternoon. She did not have much time.

“Hey there, you look incredible. Justin will go crazy in that hospital bed looking at you.” Fredo’s cheery voice was cheerily welcoming.

“um..thanks.” her cheeks flushed.

Fredo lead her to the parking and they got in a black Range Rover before drawing attention towards themselves.

As soon as the familiar hospital sign came into view the events of last night played in her mind. She grasped tightly the chain Justin had given her. The small heart-shaped locket with the words “Je t’aime” rested on her chest.

Through the black windows of the car she saw scattered crowds of girls with signs reading “Get well soon Justin”. If the events of Sarah’s life hadn’t turned the way they had she would possibly be one among those girls longing to see Justin, she reminded herself.

What also caught her sight were groups of photographers-reporters lined outside waiting for even the tiniest detail about Justin’s ‘hot and happening life’.  Life-suckers. That’s what she called these shutterbugs. They had done more harm than good to Justin in all these years.

Like yesterday they entered through the back door to avoid eyes sprawling this mystery girl.

The hospital was under tight security to avoid any unwanted invasion from the outside people. Only family and friends of the admitted patients were allowed in.

Fredo signed the register before leading the way to Justin's room.

There were two men dressed in all black outside the door. Must be security, she thought.

As Fredo pushed the door open, he let Sarah in first before locking the door behind him. The room smelled of lilies. Sarah's eyes shifted to the two  vases on either side of his bed.

Justin lay there calmly while a nurse adjusted his IV. Even while sleeping he looked perfect without even trying. His hair was muffled on the pillow and his head had been freshly bandaged.

Sarah's memory rewinded back to those times she spent countless hours googling pictures of sleeping Justin but now here she was just inches away seeing her angel sleep so peacefully.

It would be insanely inhuman to wake him up but Sarah wanted to hear his voice, the voice that could make her do anything. Anything.

She decided to wait until he wakes up. Fredo some other work so he left with one last look at Justin and told Sarah to call him when she was ready to go.

The nurse informed her that the doctor would be visiting him for a routine check in a gew minutes, so he would be awake by then.

Sarah took her seat next to Justin's bed and held his hand in hers. It was a dream...a beautiful and she was living it.

Justin's eyelids flickered and he opened his eyes to a teary faced Sarah sitting beside him. He squeezed her hand with the little strength he had.

"Hey Justin," Sarah responded to his squeeze.

"Hey babe," Justin's voice was raspy but it sounded heavenly.

Sarah's eyebrow twitched.

"What? You don't like me calling you babe?" Justin questioned.

"No. I mean Yes. It's just that no one's called me babe ever before, so its kinda strange."

"Are you fucking kidding me? You are telling me that no one's called you babe before?" Sarah nodded. Justin's smirk was clearly evident on his face. "Well...so that's a first for you." He was grinning. Justin was grinning.

Sarah made small talk about all the people outside waiting and praying for his recovery. She left out the paparazzi part. She did not want him to stress over this issue while he lay here in a hospital bed.

Sarah did most of the talking to save him from straining his newly acquired little strength. It wasn't even twenty four hours since the accident but Justin seemed to recover rapidly. She wondered if it was because of the medicines, Justin knew it was her.

The door knob turned. Sarah was ready for the doctor to step in. Only it was not the doctor, it was her. It was Amber.
