"I need you to meet me halfway, if you want me to be with you." ~Keyshia Cole, Fallin' Out

*oh yeah, two month skip*

NORMANI

So, like the good person I am, I went with Lauren while she does this hit at this fucking banquet hall. This food is delicious though so cheers to that. Ion know what these people do at banquets though so majority of it's been tuned out.

I give Quincy a call since him and Justine have all the kids.

"Yo, yo, yo."

"Hey Q, how's everything."

"Everything's good. We bout to go to the movies."

"Oh, okay. Y'all have fun, tell them I said hi."

"Will do chief. You good?"

"As good as I'm gon be."

"I hear you, keep it up Mani."

"We gon see Quince."

"Aight, ima hit you later."

"Aight."

The call gets disconnected and I notice that they started playing music and people were dancing.

(A/N: I wrote this chapter almost a year ago and it snapped at the time but seems cringe now, especially here nnn but oh well.)

I stand up and take Lauren's hand, "Let's dance."

She chuckles and shakes her head, "I'm good baby."

"Come on, please? I'm doing most of the work anyway." I pout and swing our arms.

"Alright, alright. Come on."

She stretches as she stands and discreetly moves the gun from her waistband to the pocket of the jacket. She takes the jacket off and puts it around the back of the chair. I clap my hands and start removing my heels.

"Alright, let me get them stocking socks and I'll be ready."

"You just had this planned?" She laughs.

"Mhm," I grin and slip the white ankle socks. "Let's go."

We go to the dance floor and people slowly form a circle around us as soon as we start, I guess our presence is that strong.
