*real short*
NORMANI
I wake up in a hospital bed and scrunch up my face in confusion. Last thing I remember is just arguing with Lauren's ass. I yawn and reach up to rub my eyes, stretching in the process. I look to the side of me and watch as Lauren presses the button to alert the nurse.
"How do you feel?" She asks.
I stay silent and roll my eyes. She sighs and slouches back in the chair. The nurse comes in the room with a smile and checks my vitals.
"Feeling okay? Any pain?" She asks me.
"I'm fine, just tired."
"You need anything? Some water or snacks?" She asks while she's wrapping everything up.
"Yeah some water," I say.
"Okay, I'll let the doctor know you're up."
I nod and she leaves out the room, I tap my fingers against my thigh and wait for time to pass.
"Mani I'm sorry all of this happened. You know the last thing I wanted to do was hurt you," She says softly.
I ignore her and continue tapping, I see her get visibly frustrated out my peripheral vision.
"You can't just keep ignoring me."
I look at her and quirk my eyebrow, she got me bent. The doctor comes in and sits in the spinning chair under the monitor.
"Hello Normani, I'm Dr. Evans. How are you feeling?" He asks.
"I'm good, just tired," I say.
"That's good. You do know why you're here, right?"
"Not really," I shrug.
"Well, one, you're overly dehydrated. Two, your stress levels are far too high for the pregnancy. And three, your body barely has nutrients in it," He says.
Lauren shifts around uncomfortably and focuses on the ground.
"Is the baby okay?" I ask.
"The baby's fine," He nods.
"Oh, Thank God! Can I go home?" I ask.
He tucks his lips in and shakes his head, "I'm afraid not. We have to keep you for two days, just to regulate and monitor everything. For you and the baby's sake."
I nod, "Okay, fair enough."
He stands up, "If you need anything just hit the button."
He leaves out the room and I look around for my phone.
"Are you comfortable? Do you want me to do anything for you-"
I sigh and close my eyes, "Just bring me my kids and leave, please."
It's quiet for a few seconds until I hear a faint 'Okay' followed by the door opening and closing.
