Chapter 3.
************
I walked towards my first lesson, checking my timetable to make sure I had read it right. English, yeah that’s right I thought, looking up. I was really nervous, I don’t know why I was nervous, I was just really nervous. I guess it’s a new class, new day, new start. Hopefully I didn’t have to go back to the old me. I wanted a new me.
I was walking beside Erin, she was actually really nice. We had been walking together from the front office. English was at the very back of the school, while the front office…was at the front. The bell had gone a few minutes ago and as usual, I was late. I used to be late quite often for lessons in my old school, people rushed to lesson. I mean, why would you want to rush to English? Why would you want to rush to any lesson infact? We walked into the English department, Erin rushing towards a classroom. She obviously was never late, I could tell by the way she was rushing and the way her eyes were filled with worry. I don’t know why she was worried, it’s not a big deal.
“This is the classroom, ready?” She smiled, looking from me to the door.
“I don’t have a choice.” I laughed sarcastically, as she pressed onto the door and walked in, I trailed behind her.
The whole of the students stopped looking straight at me, some started whispering while some people just had confusion written over their face. So much for ‘not standing out’ Ally. No one even had their attention on Erin, all on me. It’s like they’d seen a ghost or something. Oh wait, it’s just me being the ‘ugly scary me’ isn’t it?
I may act confident on the outside, but that does not mean I am confident on the inside, sometimes people forgot that. Sometimes people said things and thought it wouldn’t hurt when really, it stung so much.
“You’re late.” The middle-aged black haired teacher exclaimed, gesturing his hand in frustration.
“Sorry, I have a note, for both of us.” Erin stated, handing him the piece of a paper the previous receptionist had given to us.
His eyes scanned the note, as he carefully took in every word on the paper. For a minute, I thought his eyes were going to burn a hole in the paper. Just as I got tired of watching his concentrated face, I heard some whispers behind me;
‘Mmm, she is gorgeous, I wonder who she gets with first?’
‘Who do you think will be able to have that first? Oh I would.’
I scowled at their comments, seriously some people can be such freaks, I’m sick of people being so---
“So, you’re a new student?” Sir asked, boring his eyes into mine, again I thought I was going to set on fire or something.
“Yes.” I answered, practically stating the obvious.
“Erin, you sit where you was last year” Erin sighed before heading towards the front next to a quite good looking lad, who was staring at me. Which I found quite creepy, as most people had looked away now. “Ally, you sit next to Harry at the back, please.”
I looked towards the back, there was many seats free, at the back, all occupied with a boy each, as the desks were only two seats per desk.
“Harry put your hand up, please.” The teacher spoke, looking towards the back corner. A curly haired boy looked up and smirked, slowly raising his hand. That is when it hit me, why he was smirking. It was the boy from yesterday, the one talking about me to his friends, my neighbour. Well, someone who lives across from me, I guess.
I scowled as I made my way to the back of the class, I pulled out the chair and sat down, moving as far away as I could away from him, it was kind of impossible, the desks were so small. It was a surprise I wasn’t nearly sat on his knee!, I was that close to him. There was no way of me being able to move away now.
