8th January, 2252.

Obsidian Waste, Connecticut.

3rd person POV

Clarissa ran as fast as she could. Risse, her twin brother was right beside her, and was panting hard. She had to best him. If she didn't make it to school before him, she was gonna lose ten whole bucks. Ten! She wasn't gonna let that happen. She increased her speed and slowly edged forward, ahead of Risse by an inch. Their school, Obsidian Waste High was just up ahead. The black painted iron gates were closed, which confused her a bit. But she wasn't gonna stop and figure out why.

She realised by just thinking of this had decreased her speed. She was totally burned out. Risse took off his backpack and threw it all the way over to the gate, and he took off faster, now that the load was taken off his back. She growled and did the same and ran after him. But most of her energy had already been wasted. But Risse was a cool as ever and kept his pace up while Clarissa continued slowing down. Her heard was spinning, and her body felt light and delicate. She collapsed on the floor, trying to regain her senses but was too dazed.

Risse turned around and stopped. Pines down. He ran back over to her and dropped to his sister's side. She was blinking rapidly blinking, and gasping for air. He smiled a bit, relieved that she hadn't died or anything.

"Damn, sis. You had me worried there for a sec." He laughed a bit.

She looked at him. "I had you worried?" She rolled her eyes.

Risse lay next to his sister on the ground until she caught her breath back and he felt like he wasn't gonna puke anymore. He got to his feet a bit shaky and gave his sister a hand. She took it, got up and dusted herself off. He did the same.

"Good?" He asked her.

"Good." She replied.

He glared at her playfully. "You know that this is your fault right?" She gave a look of surprise.

"My fault? How is this my fault?"

"Cause you took too long in the bathroom back home! What did you say? 'Perfection and beauty can't be rushed!' "

She snorted and pushed her brown hair from in front of her eyes. "Well it can't. Besides it was your idea to cut through the forest!"

He gave her a serious look. "That's because you don't have that girl Rose as a stalker! If I have to choose between cutting through the forest for using the normal way and pass by Rose's house, of course I'd go through the forest!" He rolled his eyes.

She smiled at this and took his hand. He smiled and gave it a small squeeze. She squeezed back and they walked over to the gate, hand in hand.

"You know we're gonna get detention right?" Risse frowned slightly.

Clarisse rolled her eyes and nodded. "Yep. 312 detentions this term alone. But who's counting?"

"Is that teachers joy? To give the Pines twins detention for every damn thing." He scratched his hair. "To come to think of it, they've done this to our entire family. Seriously. There's no Pines who hadn't been in this school and cause trouble!"

Clarissa watched the gate and noticed something different. "Woah, the gate's closed."

Risse looked at it as well. It took him a minute to figure out what she meant. "Wait, that means that there's no school today!"

"Yeah, no shit Sherlock." They groaned at the same time and frowned.

"We came to school...for nothing." She drawled and groaned again.

"News flash." Risse picked up their backpacks and walked with them and left his sister empty handed, in case she was still feeling woozy.

They began walking back the way they had ran from, through the path in the forest all the way to their family's mansion a little way in the woods. It was painted a different array of colours on purpose. The colours all blended to form an amazing blue. There was a black Mercedes in the driveway, in front of the dark oak front doors. Clarissa and Risse walked up to it.

"You have the keys right?" Clarissa asked him. He looked at her, surprised.

"I thought you took them up?"

She face palmed and he dropped the bags onto the ground, both groaning. They were locked out of their own home. Risse snapped his fingers and smiled brightly. Clarissa looked at him a bit worried. He always did that whenever he had an idea. And she'd learned from their entire lives together that his ideas were never good.

"I've got it!"

"And I've got a sudden stomachache. Tell me your stupid ridiculous plan." She rolled her eyes and leaned against the door.

Risse ignored her. "Actually I have three. The first is that maybe we could break down the door-."

She snorted, interrupting him. "With what brainiac?" She rolled her eyes.

Risse paused and scratched his hair. "Okay, you've got me there. Maybe..I dunno a log? We could lift it, and break the door down."

"You mean I'll be the one doing all the lifting. You're too weak. And also how are you gonna explain the door to Mom and Dad?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Very funny. Then again, that's a good point. Counterpoint, we had to get the door open somehow."

Clarissa wanted to slap Risse so hard in the face but she restrained. "Sure. Hey Mom and Dad, we couldn't open the door so we used a freaking log to break it down. No biggie right?" She said, mockingly.

Risse rolled his eyes. "Plan B then. We climb into an open window and we're inside. Well one of us will be able to get up there...but then they will go down stairs and open the door for the other."

Clarissa shrugged. "Not bad. What's the third?"

Risse clapped his hands together. "We just go to the beach house, spend the day there and when Mom and Dad get home, we come back home."

Clarissa bit her lip inwardly. It wasn't that bad of an idea. It had some logic to it and made sense. "Okay...how would we get into the beach house?"

Risse smirked. "Every time we go there, Dad leaves the keys either in the flower pot or under the "Welcome" mat. I've been observing."

Clarissa rolled her eyes and smiled. "The beach is kinda far..."

"We'll stop halfway a the tree-house, maybe visit Grandma and then go on. We'll be there at 11. It's now 8:30."

Clarissa raised her eyebrows and laughed at how fast her brother came up with their entire route. "You can calculate a route for us, but can't stay awake for Science class?"

"Hey that bores me to death. You of all people know that." He pushed her gently and picked up the bags. But Clarissa took hers from him, and put it on, laughing.

"Very well. Lead the way, my adventurous brother."

"Sure thing. Next stop, the Tree-house." He linked their arms together and they walked off together, smiling.
