4th January, 2246.

Manhattan, New York.

"Promise me you won't get in trouble on your first day of school." Nathan Pines, a man with curly brown hair, and hazel eyes told his daughter Eliza. She looked a lot like her father, with longer brown curly hair, the same hazel eyes, his fair complexion and thin-like stature. At the edges of her hair, it was dyed black, exactly like  Nathan's own bangs.

Eliza didn't answer him and just looked out the window. She sat in the backseat, looking out the car window. Lyra, her mother was in the passenger seat. She had purple eyes and black hair, which were both striking. Eliza and Lyra might not have shared a lot of physical features but how Eliza talked, walked, laughed...they were mostly her mother.

"Eliza? Did you hear what I said?" Nathan asked her.

"Yes Daddy." She replied, only half interested in what he had to say. She was too busy, looking out the window, up at the New York skyline. With the tops of the skyscrapers acting like the jagged edges.

Nathan glanced back at her. "Are you even listening to me?"

"Nate, relax." Lyra soothed her husband. "She'll be fine."

"That's what you said last term." He grumbled and Lyra snickered.

Eliza shrugged. It wasn't her fault  she almost got suspended. She'd thought she'd seen- no, she definitely knew she saw- a Cyclops from Greek Mythology, on the playground. It wore a too tight fourth grader's clothes, on its bulky, muscular body, and had a huge eye in the middle of it's forehead. Eliza had freaked out and set off the fire alarm, setting everyone in a state of panic.

When she tried to tell everyone about the monster, they got upset and angry, and didn't believe her. Nathan had to pick her up from school early and by then, she was already in tears. Then the next day, she beat up a fifth grade girl for making fun of her. For that she got suspended for two weeks.

It still confused her as to how she won. It was like the other girl couldn't move or think clearly. Like she was almost possessed...

The car stopped at a red light and Eliza sighed. "Daddy, am I a bad girl?"

Nathan looked at Lyra, who looked at him, concerned. "No, sweetie. You aren't bad. Sometimes bad things happen to good people for no good reason."

Lyra turned around in her seat to look at her daughter. "And we, being good people have to deal with it and make the best of it."

Eliza smiled. "Green light." She pointed out.

"I saw that." Nathan smiled and looked in the rearview mirror.

Eliza looked down at her shoes. I'm gonna be a good girl this time, she thought to herself.

She looked up to see a lorry truck truck speeding towards them. But there wasn't anytime to move out of the way or shout a warning.

"Son of a- !"

"Daddy!" Eliza barely got the words out when she felt a serious jerk in the car and it all went black...

8th January, 2252.
Thurston Hospital, Brooklyn

Eliza's eyes popped open. She was fighting to catch her breath, and covered in sweat. Her red tipped bangs stuck to her forehead.

A nearby nurse was close to her bedside and grabbed Eliza's wrists and tried to hold them down. Eliza's eyes were wild and scared, and she began thrashing out wildly.

"Someone call the doctor!" The nurse shouted into a walkie talkie that she pulled from her pocket.

"Mom! Dad!" She yelled and hit the nurse in the face hard, knocking her out. The nurse dropped to the floor stunned, and Eliza rolled out of the bed. She tried to get up, but her legs felt weak and wobbly.

The nurse started to rise again but Eliza grabbed a silver platter on a nearby desk that had two bottles of medicine and a sedation needle on it, and tried to slam it into the nurse's head. The nurse gave a cry of pain and Eliza grabbed the needle and went on top nurse.

"Where's my Daddy?!" She stabbed the needle in the nurse's eye over and over till the nurse lay dead and little droplets of blood had sprayed onto Eliza's face.

Eliza wanted and crawled off the corpse, and began running her legs, trying to get a little bit of circulation going. As she did so, she noticed that her arms seemed longer. Her hips had developed a bit more and she was wearing a black bra. She waited a bit and then got up shakily and her noticed that her hair was longer than it was before. How long was she out?

Eliza looked down at her clothes and saw that she was wearing hospital scrubs. Had she done surgery? She pulled the dress up a bit and saw that there was a tiny remnant of a scar near her ribs.

What the hell happened? Eliza still managed to remember her name, parents, where she lived...the car crash! Eliza paled at the thought of it. If she was in a hospital, were her parents here too? Too many questions...but Eliza tried to solve one of the most confusing. When the crash happened, she was eight. She remembered everything her parents ever thought her, up to the car crash...but nothing further... Again a sub question came in her mind: How long was she here? How much time had passed since the crash?

Eliza looked down at her body again and furrowed her eyebrows. She thought back to a childish wish she had when she was seven and crossed it off her bucket list: boobs check. She estimated that she was around 13 to 15 years old. Which meant that she'd probably been asleep for...6 to 8 years....

Eliza took the nurse's jacket off of the nurse and put it on her own body, disguising herself as one of the hospital staff. She walked or rather limped out of her room and went into an elevator. After an awkward elevator rise from the 5th floor to the ground floor with a pregnant mother and her husband, Eliza's legs started to hurt, but she ignored it. She walked out the automatic sliding door and onto the busy 2nd Avenue.

She gasped as she looked outside at the bright daylight. There were a lot of noises, including car horns, and shouts and whistles for a cab. Eliza looked up and saw some train tracks running through the streets. Fast sleek silver trains ran on them moving at high speeds, but the weirdest thing was that they floated over the actual tracks.

"On dear..." Eliza paled and her eyes widened. "How long have I been asleep?"
