3rd person POV

"So girls," Kara Valentine spoke, breaking the silence. "How was school today?"

Ruby looked up from her plate of lasagna and baked chicken, and glanced at her sister, who blinked, looking bored. They were all having dinner together around the dinner table.

"Uhm..." Ruby struggled to find the words. "It was good. A little surprise in the afternoon. But good."

Sam looked at her sister, telling her to shut up with her eyes. Mrs Valentine raised an eyebrow at them both. Ruby looked back at her mother before looking down at her food again. She was acting suspiciously, no doubt.

Kara nudged her husband, who was on his phone. He looked up confused and she jerked her head slightly at their daughters. Ruby gulped a bit and took another bite out of her lasagna. Sam was staring into space, as if she were daydreaming.

"Samantha."

"Yeah Dad?" She said, not fixing her gaze off whatever it was she was watching in her mind.

"You okay? How was school?"

"Great, great, everything was great."

Ruby mentally slapped her forehead. Way to make it more suspicious sis, she thought sarcastically. Sam blinked and seemed to return back to the dinner table. She finished her last piece of lasagna, wiped her mouth with her napkin and finished her fruit punch.

"Great meal Mom. As always. May I be excused?"

Before anyone had even even answered her, she got up and left the table in a hurry, running down the hall to her bedroom. Both husband and wife exchanged glances and focused on Ruby. She gave them a weak smile, and excused herself from the table as well.

Well that was weird. She ran into her shared room, where she knew her sister and their secret guest was and closed the door behind her.

"Maybe your parents would understand?"

"Liz, seriously, they wouldn't. Kara and Mark are really...I'm not sure they're any adjectives to describe them." Sam said softly. Both twins were standing in front of Sam's bed facing their friend.

Eliza was sitting on Sam's bed, with her feet and hands crossed. She looked refreshed after the shower. The bloody hospital scrubs were off, and she wore some of Ruby's clothes, who was thankfully the same size. Thanks to Sam's recent growth spurt Ruby was shorter now instead of the same height with her. Eliza wore a simple long sleeve black jersey, with a hood, blue jeans and black and red Adidas shoes.

"Fine." She shrugged. "But aren't you two going to school tomorrow, and for all those other days? I'll have to stay here by myself?"

Sam looked at Ruby who shrugged. Neither of them had taken that into consideration. Eliza raised her eyebrow and smiled. "You seriously didn't think about that?"

"We'll figure something out." Sam said, already starting to think hard. "I wonder if we can sneak her into school?"

Ruby shook her head. "Doubt it."

"Well then we should sleep on it and decide in the morning. How about that?" Sam suggested, yawning a bit. "Cause I am deadbeat tired."

Eliza shrugged. "Sure. Only one problem. You guys didn't say where I was gonna sleep."

"Oh," Ruby put her finger on her lip. "Well I'll just sleep with Sam."

Her older twin gave a small gasp of surprise and quickly covered it up with a cough. Eliza and Ruby raised an eyebrow at her, and she blushed faintly.

"Did I say something wrong?" Ruby asked.

Sam shook her head. "N-No no! Nothing. It's nothing." She said, taking a few deep breaths, fanning her face. "I was just holding my breath for too long."

Ruby rolled her eyes at that. "Idiot. But yeah, Eliza you can sleep on my bed."

Eliza shrugged. "Sounds good. I'm tired as well anyway."

Ruby smiled. "Good. I'm gonna brush my teeth."

As soon as Ruby skipped out of the room, Eliza turned on Sam with an intriguing glance in her eyes and a knowing smirk on her face. Sam raised an eyebrow at her trying to keep a calm demeanor but her face said it all.

"You okay there Red?"

"How did I not notice it before." She said softly, smiling more. "The way you talk about her...the way your smile when she's even a little close to you...just now...you like Ruby."

Sam's eyes widened and she felt her face heating up more. "Well yeah, she's my sister. I gotta like her."

Eliza narrowed her eyes. "Don't try that on me." She smirked. "You know what I mean when I say you like her."

Sam shook her head, trying to be inconspicuous. "Nope-"

Eliza tackled her to floor, pinning all of her limbs to the floor. She put her face close to Sam's, their lips centimeters apart. "Oh really." She purred. "Then you wouldn't mind if I kissed you right now-"

Sam blushed a dark red and sighed. "O-okay okay, you got me! "

"No, that's not enough. I wanna hear you say it. Say it or I'll kiss you right now." She threatened. Sam shook her head and Eliza started to lower her face slowly.

"Okay okay, I like her!" Sam confessed, closing her eyes. "I like Ruby. A lot..."

"Ha. You thought I was gonna kiss you." Eliza laughed, and rolled off of Sam, lying next to her. "That's all you had to say."

Sam put her hands to her face. "Please, please, please don't tell her... I would die-"

"Relax Sammy," Eliza took Sam's hand and gave it a little squeeze. "I won't tell a soul. Pinky promise."

Sam opened her eyes to look at her. "What are you, eight?"

"Well actually, the last day I remember, I was 8 years old." She retorted.

Ruby walked back in, smiling. She raised an eyebrow at the girls on the floor. "Hey. You two can't hang out without me." Ruby laughed. She crossed over Eliza, and lay down next to Sam, and took her hand, smiling.

Sam blushed and looked at Eliza for support, but the girl just shrugged. Ruby put her head on Sam's left breast, but she hardly noticed her sister tense up. Eliza gave her an evil smile and lay her head on Sam's right breast, squeezing her hand gently. They all lay there quietly for a few moments.

"So...who's gonna lock the door?" Sam asked.
