(Edd's POV)
I walked back up the stairs of the complex to check on Y/N. She seem really upset at Tom's outburst. I was angry at myself for not comforting her. I walk to her apartment, and before I knocked I spotted the note on her door. My blood went cold.
If I don't come back.
She's not back yet.
Tears filled my eyes as I dashed back down the staircase where I saw Tom walking back in with Matt resting his hand on Tom's shoulder. They give me a questioning look and I point in the direction of Y/N's apartment then shove them out of the way then rush to my car and drive to Cloudberry Fields. I see Y/N's car and see a figure laying in the grass. Tord was nowhere to be seen. I sprinted towards the shape and saw a bleeding out Y/N, a bullet lodged in her chest. I cried.
Blood flowed from her wound, turning the emerald green grass to the sickening color of scarlet. The choking smell of blood clouded my senses, making it impossible to smell anything else. Her eyes were closed, but I could see her chest quickly, but faintly rising and falling. She was alive!
I hear the rumbling of a car and see Tom had zoomed over here with Matt with him. They rushed over to me.
"Call an ambulance." I ordered to Tom. He nodded and pulled out his phone.
"You're gonna be okay." I assured her, although she probably couldn't hear me.
The wailing of sirens were in the distance. "You're gonna live. Here comes the ambulance, they'll help you!"
The sirens blared in my ears. Some people rushed over to us and took Y/N out of my arms. I follow them in my car and the white hospital comes into view.
I see Tom and Matt arrive shortly after me and we sit in the waiting room. Tears were flowing from my eyes. Tom was panicking and crying, not even Matt's coaxing could calm him down. Hours ticked by, and it was eleven o'clock by now. Then a doctor came down the stairs. There was a puddle of tears on the ground. He gave us a sympathetic look.
"I'm sorry to say this, but she might not make it. She's in a coma." The doctor says. An indescribable pain fills my whole body. "She's still alive, but she has a high chance of dying. You may visit her. She's in room 10 on the third floor."
Tom and I almost ran up the stairs. We made it to the third floor and we slowed down to a walk so we could open the door with no surprises. He said one at a time, and we let Tom go in first. Only Y/N was in the room.
(Tom's POV)
My hand shook violently as I placed it on the doorknob. Luckily, only Y/N was in the room. Her eyes that would normally be bright and happy were shut. There was a faint smell of blood that was fighting against the odd smell of the hospital. I looked at Y/N, tears filling my black holes for eyes.
When we were kids, we would take turns sleeping. She would sleep while I kept guard, then I would sleep and she would guard. I liked when I could keep guard because when Y/N slept, she looked like she was in peace, like she had no problems. Now her sleep looked like she was carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, like she was screaming but couldn't open her mouth. I sat down in the chair next to her.
"Hey, I don't know if you can hear me, but if you can just know I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry for everything I've said or done that has hurt you in any way."
"I'm sorry for when I couldn't be there or when I let something bad happen to you."
"I'm sorry for yelling at you or criticizing you or when I was a hypocrite."
"I know it's my fault and I let this happen to you by letting you run out and get shot."
"So...just please w-wake up." My sentences were broken up by tears. I cried into her shoulder. Then I gave her a brotherly kiss on the forehead and walk out of the room. Matt tries to comfort me.
"It's all my fault."
(Edd's POV)
I enter the room to see a troubled-looking Y/N in a hospital bed. Tears escaped my eyes as I looked at her. I sit in the chair that was placed next to her bed.
"Ya' know Y/N, you better not die, 'cause if you do..." I started. Then I burst into tears.
"Y/N I'm so sorry for everything I wish I could've been there and helped you and everything would be ok you wouldn't be in this bed we could be in the park or watching a movie and Tord couldn't stop it and you would be happy!" I gasped for air.
"You were the reason I got up every morning. If I was feeling down you would always make me smile. I love the way you could speak up to anybody with no fear. Oh Y/N, please come back to me..." I kissed her and got up to leave the room.
I looked at her one more time before closing the door. Another tear escaped my eye as I closed the door. It was twelve o'clock. Tom was asleep on Matt's shoulder. I nodded at Matt and he carried Tom out of the building. The facility was almost completely empty, only patients and a few doctors were there.
We climbed down the flights of stairs, and we left the hospital. I got in my car and I drove home. I walked up the stairs, exhausted, and I opened my apartment. I fell onto my bed, and was dropped into a dark sleep.
