Mom decided to take my shopping one last time around the mall before the new year arrives. I'm so pumped that I'm officially 14 and able to walk into the new year in the right direction...kind of....

"Sooo...you know I didn't take time out of my day just to take you shopping! Tell me more about this boy! You're too scared to tell me in the house, so talk!" Mom smiles as I roll my eyes and put the clothes back on its hanger.

"You didn't tell Dad anything about him, right?" My mom shakes her head yes. Thank god. I take a breath of relief in, and exhale.

"It almost slipped out though at our anniversary-"

"What!? Mom!!! I told you to keep it a secret-"

"Almost! It almost slipped out Alicia! Besides, why would you be so afraid to tell your father? He'll probably love your boyfriend! He's invited to our New Year's Eve party too so I can finally meet hi-"

"Tomorrow n-night?!" Mom couldn't be serious right now!

"Yeah! It'll be fun! I think this will look adorable on ya!" Mom picks out a few outfits for me to try on for tomorrow's party, and I sigh, taking them from her hands and trying them on.

I wasn't sure why, but I feel like Dad would hate my boyfriend. Kevin reminds me of Dad in a way, of how respectful & kind he is, like the many bedtime stories mom would tell me when I was younger about their magical relationship. I want that too someday! Daddy would always tell me to never get a boyfriend because he'll break my heart and then he'll have to break his face. I don't why he'd assume that any and every boy would break my heart, so I felt that I wasn't pretty enough and that's the reason I'll never have a relationship like Mom & Daddy have. He wouldn't give me permission anyway, but Mom was all on board with it.

After trying the outfits, I bought a red dress that fit perfectly, and reminded me of the one Mom wore to the Grammy's with Daddy for the first time. Mom & I stroll around the mall some more, but not for too long. Some shrieking and excited fans of my mom stopped our walks by asking for pictures and autographs. That was our cue to start heading out the place before the paparazzi comes next, wanting pictures, answers about stuff, and whatever they love to get from my parents. They're all over the media everyday! It's either their amazing accomplishments or its the false stories from TMZ. I hate them so much! It's great that the haters never get into my parent's heads though! I believe it's because at the end of the day, they're content and proud with their successful careers. Plus, they then come home to the six of us kids here to shower them with more love and happiness after a long, hard day.
