Recap: "Who's Logan?" I asked out loud to no one. I started to think and then came across a pretty obvious realization. It was mystery guy from last night. He was the only one who had my notebook since I finished writing that song. I definitely didn't want to talk to him or even be involved with him right now. Wait, when would he have written that note? I swear if he had my notebook for more than a few moments, he knows more about me than Nicki and Luke. I'm going to kill him, you know, if I ever see him again

Nicki called me a couple hours later to tell me she had set up a gig for me at Chris Dawson's party next weekend. Nicki wasn't only my best friend, but she was a great help with booking the band. Chris Dawson was one of those guys who was loved by everyone, but only really loved one girl, the girl he could never get, Nicki. This would be a good step for me, and for the band. Hopefully she didn't do too much to get this for us.
"How did you possibly get the band a gig at Dawson's party?" I asked with shock.
"You know Sam, I didn't do anything...he's a good guy." she replied.
"Come on Nicki! The guy is practically in love with you!"
"Right...about that...I'm just not into Chris like that. He's not my type."
"Not your type? Whatever you say Nicki... So what did you really have to do?" I questioned again.
"I promised him a date." She said so fast I barely heard her.
"Are you serious?!" I laughed. "At least you should be excited. He really likes you, and he's not a jerk." I added in.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." she said as the line went silent for a little.
"Thanks. You're a great friend. Just don't break Chris's heart, he's a good guy Nicki, you'll see." I said after awhile. I could imagine her smiling on the other side of the phone.
"I know I am, and I'll try not to." she concluded. "Hey, what about mystery guitar boy?" she asked trying to change the subject.
"What about him?" my demeanor shifted a bit.
"Do you know his name?" As much as I wanted to lie to her and say no, I answered truthfully.
"Yes. His name is Logan. He wrote a note at the end of one of my songs in my notebook."
"Oooh, really?" she said teasingly. "What did the note say?" she asked eagerly.
"It said, 'I'm more than what you probably think...'" I replied with my imitation of a man's voice. She laughed at my impression and then composed herself before talking again. I decided to leave out the fact he left his number. I was not going to talk to him.
"Somebody likes you!" She said in a sing-song voice.
"Shut-up! He's everything I hate. He's not my type."
"Not your type? Whatever you say Sammy..." she replied mocking me like I answered her earlier.
"Bye Nicki" I said jokingly as I hung up the phone on her.
I was so pumped about being able to play at Chris's party that I started a set list instantly. I knew we would have to play covers and a few originals. After hours of contemplation and suggestions from the rest of the band. We decided on covers like Tonight, Tonight, Homecoming, That's What You Get, Rumor Mill, Last Friday Night, and Both Sides of The Story. I also thought about playing an all new original song called Your Love that I wrote a few weeks ago before the showcase. It has a more poppy feel than my usual songs so it would be perfect to play for this event.
