Recap: I waited for his reply to what I had to tell him, but hours passed and he still didn’t send a text back to me. I literally refreshed my texts about a hundred times that night and no new message appeared from him. I really hope he doesn’t completely hate me.

I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed. I slept in a little, not worrying about watching the sunrise. I saw a new text message from Noah that contained an address and a time, 1:00 p.m. Since it was already about 10:00, I called Nicki and she came over.
We hung out with Luke for a little then went to my room to talk about everything that’s happened to us the last couple days.
“What’s new Sam?” Nicki asked.
“Honestly, a lot. I’m going to audition for a new duet competition that Noah told me about. It films in Hollywood and the grand prize is 1 million dollars.” I smiled.
“Really? That’s amazing! Wait, who’s going to be your duet partner?”
“Noah’s cousin, who I’m meeting soon.” I said as I looked over to my wall clock.
“So, someone you haven’t met…that’ll be interesting.” she replied slightly skeptical.
“Yeah, but enough about me. How are you and Chris?” I asked. Nicki’s cheeks turned a light shade of pink.
“Everything is great, he’s great, and he gets me, you know?” she said as her eyes started to glaze over. I smiled at the look she got whenever she talked about Chris.
“I’m happy for you Nicki, I’m glad that everything is working out.” Nicki smiled back at me and then started to rummage through my closet and picked out an outfit in seconds.
“Here.” she said handing me clothes. “Put this on.”
“Okay…” I said slightly skeptical of her choice.
I pulled on the outfit and I checked myself out in the mirror. It screamed professional but badass. I had on a pair of medium wash skinny jeans, white, sparkly graphic blouse, and an open black pinstriped vest over it. I took my hair out of the ponytail it was in, ran my fingers through it, and shook it out until it looked full. I grabbed one of my fedora hats and set it on my head.
I stepped out of my bathroom and was greeted by Nicki laying on my bed waiting patiently for me to finish.
“What do you think?” My words grabbing her attention. Her eyes widened immediately and the corners of her mouth began to curl up. She scrutinized my look within seconds. I was nervously waiting for a response.
“You look gorgeous Sammy!” she exclaimed. “Guys would be all over you if you keep dressing like that!” I started to blush a little at the attention she was giving me.
“Stop it Nicki!” I scolded.
“Whatever, don’t act like you don’t love the attention.” Nicki winked.
“Maybe…”
“No, not maybe, you do.” she insisted. She looked at my face and we both busted out into laughter. “You should probably get going Sam, it’s 12:30 already.”
“Oh right, ok, bye, wish me luck.”
“Good luck Sam, you’ll be fine.”
Right as I was about to walk out the door I got a text from Noah
