Romeo's POV
Sunlight wakes me up from a deep sleep, and I can't help but have a smile on my face. It's Christmas and I couldn't be happier; even if I have a crap home life, I have amazing friends and an angel of a girlfriend. I creep out my bedroom and peer down the stairs, listening for any movement. No signs so I continue my adventure down the stairs, almost tripping over a dripping whiskey bottle that was left in the hallway. Sighing, I pick it up and tip-toe to the kitchen, placing it in the bin. After a patient 20 minutes the smell of pancakes wakes up my dad, and he waits sat at the table.
"Morning Father!" I smile at him, and give him his plate. "Would you like any sauce?"
"Do we have any syrup?" He smiles weakly back at me.
"I'll go check." I leave him behind and look through all the cupboards. When I get back he's crying with a mouth full of food.
"I'm sorry Romeo!" He sobs uncontrollably. "I'm so so sorry!"
"What are you on about Father?" I stay back, in case he turns violent.
"These pancakes taste like your mothers."
"She did teach me after all." I sigh, waiting to be hit.
"I've abandoned my own son, after his own mothers death. I've abused my own son physically and verbally. I've ignored my own values." He looks at me. "Romeo Conbolt, my only reminder of your mother, I'm sorry with how I've treated you."
"Father!" I wipe away my tears.
"I'm sorry, please help me get better, my son."
"Of course I'll help you!" I exclaim pulling him into a hug. "I'll help you everyday. I promise."
"Thank you, my son. My Romeo."
"Merry Christmas Father."
"Merry Christmas Romeo."
We enjoy our breakfast, finally having a happy conversation with each other. He even helps me clean our plates, and he shows me his secret stash of alcohol hidden in his bedroom. He even helps me throw away each bottle of poison. I truly believe that he wants to get better, after all the years of harming himself.
"Father, I want you to meet someone."
"Are they important to you?"
"Very important, go and get dressed. Casual attire."
"Anything for you son."

Wendy's POV
Natsu keeps pestering me about his presents, acting more childish than me. Mum and Dad just keep laughing, and giving us our present. My Mum hands me a neatly wrapped box that fits in the palm of my hand. Slowly, I unopened it and cried; in my hands was a charm for my bracelet she had given me when she took me away from the orphanage.
"Thank you, Mum and Dad." I hug them tightly, a few tears shedding.
"I'm glad you like it sweetie." She sings, ruffling my hair.
"Wendy, I know you got me a present." Natsu whines.
"Fine, you've waited long enough." I get off the sofa and hand him a silver card.
"Is this it?" He raises an eyebrow.
"Do you want it or not?" I lean to take it but he takes it out my reach.
"Whatever it is, I'll like it if it came from Wendy." He opens the card and gasps.
"You like it?" I giggled.
"How did you get these? They've been sold out for months." He takes out the 5 tickets.
"I bought them in advance. I'm glad you like them!"
"I love you Wendy!" He hugs me and jumps up and down on the spot.
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
"I'll go get that." I get up quickly, ignoring my parents' protests. I open the door and immediately grin. Before my eyes is Romeo, holding a small box. I leap into his arms, and he spins me laughing out loud.
"Woah Wendy!" He drops me on my doorstep. "I didn't know you were that desperate for me!"
"Shut it Romeo, unless you want to be left in the cold!"
"Please, wonderful, beautiful, Wendy, don't leave us in the cold!" He begs, with puppy dog eyes. That's when I look at the man, who was smiling kindly at us. He looks like Romeo. "Anyways, Wendy, meet my Father."
"Nice to meet you Mr Conbolt." I stick out my hand and he shakes it politely. "I'm Wendy Marvell."
"Father this is my girlfriend, Wendy."
"Girlfriend!" Mr Conbolt gasps. "Why didn't you ever tell me son?"
"Um, you were always busy." Romeo whispers nervously.
"Darling, who's at the door?" My Dad pokes his head out the door. "Macao?"
"Igneel." Mr Conbolt smiles.
"Macao Conbolt, how have you been?" My Dad walks out the house and hugs him loosely.
"I've been better."
"It's nice to meet you Mr Dragneel." Romeo shakes Igneel's hand. "I'm Romeo Conbolt, Wendy's boyfriend."
"BOYFRIEND!" He shouts, grabbing a hold of my shoulders.
"DID I HEAR BOYFRIEND?!" My Mum strolls out the door and keeps staring at me and Romeo.
"Oh dear lord." I sigh.
"Macao, you've certainly grown up since high-school." Mum beams, giving him a hug.
"So you did marry Natalie after all Igneel? You found a keeper." Macao elbows Igneel.
"Did take some persuading though on my half of it!" My Dad laughs, holding Natalie's hand.
"Oh you both must join us for Christmas Dinner!" My Mum exclaims dragging us all inside despite Macao's arguments.
I pull Romeo into the back garden for our gift exchange. We quickly swap boxes, and I open mine first, gasping when I open the box.
"Romeo, this is gorgeous." I gently take out the golden heart necklace. "Thank you."
"Your welcome." We hug for a second before he unwraps his gift. He takes it out and a blush forms on his cheeks.
"You like it?" I ask trying to read his face.
"Wendy, I love it." He holds the maroon scarf in his hands. "Did you make this?"
"I did. I'm glad you love it."
I take him back inside and we all enjoy Christmas dinner together.
