"Nothing stays the same it all gets crushed.

It all gets broken.

It all passes with time.

Only the moment you're in has any meaning.

There are things that stand the test of time, there are things that last.

Like love.

Love theres nothing more fragile or ephereal.

Love is like fire on a rainy day: you've got to spend all your time protecting it, feeding it, tending it because if you don't it goes out.

There are some loves that last.

No, what lasts is the pain that comes after love."

Chapter 13

I awoke with a start. Groaning, I looked at the clock and decided to get up. I finally asked for a day off, even on saturdays people crave a massage. I hadn't had a day off since... I started working.

To be off meant I had to fight for a peace of mind because my thoughts of the past always consumed me.

Leaving the bathroom and walking towards the fridge in my kitchen, my phone caught my eye. I faltered. I had no plans today and I haven't been feeling good. I needed...

Typing a simple "Hey." I sat on my one stool and waited. Why would he text me back? He would never agree to go out with me especially since I disgusted and creeped him out.

I looked toward my fridge again but I was too worrisome to eat now. So I didn't.

I spent the rest of my day sitting in that stool, thinking of how my life would have been different if I would have joined my uncle instead of Him.

Oh, how I played into his hands. The towns people looked at me with so much hate and some looked with barely concealed sympathy.

Or maybe it was the arm that was always around my waist they hated. I hated it too but I was too scared to run away so I snuggled closer, hoping to hide from their eyes.

Maybe if I would've fought sooner... Maybe if I would've seen what he was doing I could've... I should've killed mys- Ping!
The sound snapping me out of my thoughts, I hesiated. Looking at my microwave, I saw it was close to five in the afternoon. Grabbing my phone, I saw a simple reply, "Hey."

" I found you." My heart dropped.
And I realized it was from an unknown number. My body started to shake, my fingers reaching for the now ringing phone. Debating, I ran a hand through my curls.

I just couldn't... deal right now but I knew the consequences if I didn't answer. Tears swelled in my eyes as I pressed answer, pressing a hand to my mouth to prevent the sob that was crawling its way out.

" I always knew I would find you my sweet white rose..."
