Your first time meeting his family ( + Rebekah )

"Klaus...I don't think I can do this."

I rubbed my sweaty palms on my black jeans.

"Your heartbeat is wild, calm down. They'll love you, Y/N."

"What if I am chewing too loud or if I slurp my drink?"

"Slurp?" Klaus smirked.

"Klaus! Ew, just ew." I shook my head in disgust.

"Love, you're fine." He sighed, "Lets go before we miss the dinner."

"Okay." I said warily and gripped his hand.

"This is Y/N, play nice everyone."

One of Klaus's siblings who I guessed to be Elijah kissed my hand, another hugged me and kissed my cheek.

"Kol." Klaus growled.

"Can I not have a bit of fun, brother?"

"Not when it comes to my Y/N."

"Whatever." Kol stalked into the dining room and Elijah followed.

"Klaus, baby, there's no need to get so jealous." I put my hand on his cheek and he bent down to peck my lips.

"Lets go in, shall we?"

"Um..."

"Calm down, everything will be fine."

"Okay, I trust you." I whispered more to myself but of course he heard and smiled down at me.

Walking into the dining room hand in hand, I saw a beautiful blonde haired woman in the kitchen, I hadn't met her before so I went to introduce myself.

Holding out my hand I said, "Hi, I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you."

"Okay." She said and turned back to whatever she had previously been doing.

"Oh." I said, quietly before turning and sitting next to Klaus at the table.

"You met Rebekah?"

"Yeah, she was really nice!" I smiled, guessing that was the blonde in the kitchen. I didn't want to tell Klaus the truth and possibly ruin the dinner.

"I knew she would love you." He kissed my cheek several times and I laughed, trying to push him away.

"Enough! I can't take looking at another woman coming into our lives and ruining what we have. I am the woman of the house, the only woman! I have always been here for all of you. I am always here for all of you! And every time a nice girl comes your way, she is your new addiction but don't worry, love, you'll be gone soon."

Rebekah sped out of the compound and I suddenly felt very self conscious, Klaus's mouth was slightly parted like he might say something, "Don't worry about it, Klaus. I'll text you when I get home." I smiled sadly and stood from the table, "Bye guys." I waved to his brothers and walked as far as I could from their house before I broke down crying.

I didn't know that something like this would happen but at the same time I did. I knew that I wasn't going to be good enough for him and his family. They had been alive for so long and had gone through so many people but always had each other.

I was only a mere human, I would be gone in only a few decades. And that was nothing to them.

I️t was probably nothing to Klaus.

His relationship with his sister is more important than the one with me and he knew that, so did she.

He's going to break up with you...just prepare yourself for it, Y/N.

This made me cry harder. I had fallen inlove with Klaus but I knew that one day this would come to an end but I honestly thought it wouldn't be until death do us part.

I completed the walk back to my house where I didn't expect to see anyone, maybe Klaus but no one else.

"Rebekah?" My voice was more quiet than I meant for it to be because I was crying the whole walk and hadn't been talking.

"Look, I apologize. I shouldn't have said those things to you, it's just that this is the happiest I've ever seen Klaus and I thought that if I scared you off first then he wouldn't have to endure such heartbreak if you were to- I don't know where I am going with this." She sighed.

"Hey, it's okay. I totally understand why you would feel that way, but I just want you to know that I love him, I'm inlove with Klaus. And I- I haven't told him that yet but-"

"I love you too, Y/N."

I turned around at the sound of Klaus's voice.

"This isn't how I wanted you to necessarily find out." I fidgeted.

"And that wasn't how I necessarily wanted dinner to go. Guess we can't get everything we want in this life...but I hope that I can have you, because you are everything and more to me. In this life and every single one after."

I nodded and smiled at him, embracing him in a hug when he walked up the stairs.

Turning to Rebekah I listened to Klaus talk to her, "I hope that you can respect our relationship, Rebekah. And no woman could ever replace you or my Y/N. You two are the most important women in my life." He nodded at her and ushered me into the house.

Rebekah and I exchanged a smile, silently making a truce.
