He finds you drunk

This week was definitely not a good one.

I had been studying for hours at a time for a History test on Thursday but it turned out that Thursday was the test for English.

And Monday which is when I thought the English test was, it was for History.

I walked into class, excited because I knew I would ace it but when I started to talk to Elena about it she gave me a sad look and told me that I had gotten the dates mixed up.

"No fucking way." I held my head in my hands, rubbing my temples.

"I barely studied!" I groaned and sat back in the chair.

"Hey, you can always reassess it." Elena tried to reassure me.

"I don't have time for that, especially with cheer and- shit!" I had to suck it up and just get the test over with.

It was Friday and the grades came in, I got a 38%.

I laughed, in complete shock.

"No way." I laughed and then cried and then laughed again at how pathetic I was.

I was embarrassed to tell anyone, even my boyfriend Matt who I would usually tell everything to.

I needed to get away from the world for a little bit, so I reached the top shelf of alcohol in the basement of my parents house.

I pressed play on the radio and got drunk, dancing to the radio and anything that came on made my body move fluidly, any genre was welcome at that moment.

Eventually, I got tired and dizzy. I turned off the radio and laid across the couch, lazily.

I realized that I left my third bottle across the room and I stood up to go get it but swayed and landed right on my ass.

"Woah." I laughed and tried to stand again but kept swaying, my mind swimming with alcohol and bad decisions.

"Y/N! I've been calling you!" Matt ran over to me.

"Hey, baby!" I laughed loudly and grabbed his face roughly, kissing him.

"Wha- Are you drunk?"

"Oh, what is 'drunk?' If everyone has a different limit than why is there only one word for it? I personally think that there should be multiple terms for each type of drinker." I raised my finger matter of factly.

"Oh my god... come on, babe. Stand up." Matt helped me to my feet.

"Let's go get some water in the kitchen, okay?" He said, softly and walked both of us over, sitting me at the table.

I tapped my finger against the table and hummed, "You know who's a really good singer?"

"Who?" Matt asked, placing the glass in front of me.

"Me! You want to hear a little something?" I asked, slyly.

"I want you to drink your water." He smiled.

I looked at the water and dipped my finger in it, "Oh! It's cold!"

"Yeah..."

I took the glass and drank it until there was no more, not stopping for air.

"Well, damn, Y/N."

"Ha! Now, I'm ready to sing!"

"Hey, how about we get you to bed? We can talk up there."

"Oh, okay." I said, yawning.

"I guess this is you crashing, huh?"

He carried me to the room but I don't remember much of the rest of that night.

The morning after, I had the worst hangover of my life.

"Matt!" I yelled and immediately cringed at the pounding in my head.

"Yes?" He came up the stairs with a glass of water and pills in his hands.

"I don't feel good." I sat up a bit and reached out for the pills and water.

"You'll feel better soon." He sat on the edge of he bed and stared at me.

"What?" I giggled.

"You're so beautiful."

"Matt, shut up." I shoved him, lightly.

"I'm serious! And I know something upset you yesterday to make you do this to yourself...do you want to talk about it?"

I looked down at my hands resting in my lap, "I failed my English test because I mixed up the date that it was on."

"What'd you get?"

"A 38%...I can't believe that I-" I took a deep breath, "I'm so disappointed in myself, Matt. And I didn't want you to be too."

"I'm not disappointed at all, you made an innocent mistake, you messed up the dates. And you still have that History test that I know you'll do great on."

He kissed my cheek and I leaned into his broad chest, "Love you." I said, playfully.

"I love you too." He kissed the top of my head and rubbed my arm.

I sighed, happily.

"You have to reassess, you know that, right?"

I let out a small laugh, "Yes, I know."
