Shikamaru's POV
The war was over so everyone was heading home. Chidara had brought back everyone that died, including my dad (manga readers would get this).
"Hey Shikamaru" said a familiar voice. It was Temari, the girl that could get me to work without protest.
"Yeah, what is it?" I asked. She looked sad for some strange reason.
"It was nice working with you and thanks for the save earlier, y'know with the explosion" She turned to walk away but stopped, "if you're ever in Suna look me up" she smiled while speaking.
"I will same here for Konoha that is," I replied. She nodded then left, leaving me again.
We returned to Konoha and everything was going smoothly but I felt sad. Its always like this, us separating in the end.
"Shikamaru!" yelled Ino as she ran to sit beside me. I barely glanced at her as she sat.
She took one look at me then said "Sad about separating from Temari again?" I didn't reply.
"That's the hard part about loving someone from another village" she remarked. I knew she was right. None of could leave our respective village so it was hard. Yet the less I see her, the more I love her. Its like they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder.
"Shikamaru you should tell her before its too late" That was the last thing she said before leaving.
Naruto's POV
I was bored. Things were too peaceful for my liking. I haven't even properly celebrated becoming chuunin yet. I looked across the street and saw Hinata and my heart started racing. Lately I felt different towards her. I started liking her in a more than friendly way.
"Hinata" I called she stopped.
"Naruto" she shyly said. She's so cute when she blushes.
"I need your held" I stated.
