TIMESET ⇒ THREE YEARS LATER

I was sitting by the bench on the hill, it was my favorite spot to think about what I have done in my life. I remember, when my ex-girlfriend, Mackenzie, and I used to go here all the time. I told her about the buildings that my grandfather built, it was great.

I heard that she got married, she's living a happy life now, which makes me glad. I am still single, it's fine though, it just wasn't meant to be, I guess.

To this day, I still haven't gotten over her. I thought she really was the one— she was my everything.

I was stood up from the bench, until I heard a noise.

"Is that you? Johnny Orlando?" A female voice had asked, and I knew her from somewhere.

"Mackenzie Ziegler?" I ask, she nodded repeatedly. She ran up to me and hugged me, I hugged back.

"How are you? You look— great." She says, admiring my looks.

"Oh, I'm good. Congratulations by the way!" I say.

We sat by the bench again, and just admired the city.

"Wow, it's been so long." I say.

"Yeah." She says.

It was quiet, then she later her head on my shoulder.

"I missed you," She says, I nod.

"Well, I should get going, Finn might get worried." She chuckled.

"Bye, Johnny Orlando." She says, waving.

"Bye, Mackenzie Ziegler." I say under my breath.

If I wasn't so stupid, we might've been still a thing. But no, I'm an idiot.

I wish I could tell her everything that was going on inside my head, but no, I'm still an idiot.

Everything comes back to you, Mackenzie.

You were my everything.

I can't move on.

I miss you, so, so, much.

I thought of all our lost memories, I guess you could say I messed up. I messed up with Nadia, Mackenzie— everyone.

I'm bad at love.
