Elizabeth's pov:
It's 11 am and I am now curling my hair in my room. When I used to live here and was 14 me and my friends used to go to this café/restaurant called 'Wide Awake'. Today I am planning to visit the restaurant and ask the manager if I can work there. The manager is a lovely young woman called Nicole. She was 27 when we used to come there everytime after school. We started talking and got really close with her. I haven't talked with her in so long, but I am so excited so see her again. Nicole is someone who is really funny and you can always talk to her. She is always so positive and knows how to put a smile on your face. I grabbed my keys and got in my car. On my way to the restaurant I was listening to my favorite songs. My favorite thing about driving is that I can jam out to every song I want and not care about anything or anyone. I really hope I am able to get this job, I really want to get some money and get enough for a apartment. Ofcourse a apartment is expensive, but I am not giving up.
I parked my car and entered the restaurant. It has changed here a lot wow! It's beautiful, it's so classy and modern! I walked to the bar and started talking to this girl who is around my age. "Hey can I talk to the manager?" I smiled while she looked up at me with a smile. "Oh sorry she will be gone for about 20 minutes, can I help you with something?" She told me. "Just wanted to talk with her about something, I will wait" I smiled back. "Okay, she will be back soon." She said and went back to work. I grabbed my phone and started to scroll through instagram. "There is seriously no one here right now.." another girl who works here groaned and sat down next to me. "People will come soon Tiff, it's almost around lunch time." The other girl said. "Bored?" I giggled making her laugh. "I'm Tiffany" She smiled at me. "I'm Elizabeth, but you can call me Liz" I smiled back. "Are you waiting for Nicole?" She asked me while I nodded. "Wait you know her?" The other girl asked me while I nodded again. "How do you know her? Ow and I am Catherine by the way." She said and joined our conversation. "I used to come here with a group of friends everyday after school" I smiled. "I haven't seen you here before" Tiffany said while she cleaned one of the tables.
"I moved to Arizona 6 years ago because my parents got a divorce, and now we are back" I smiled. "Wow that is a long time ago, welcome back" Catherine said. "Thanks!" I said. "I am back girls, I brought you starbucks." I heard a familiar voice behind me. I turned around seeing Nicole. "Hey Nicole, look who is here!" Tiffany said and pointed at me. Nicole looked at me with a confused look until she realized who I was. "Wait Elizabeth!" She said excited and pulled me into a hug. "Look at you! All grown up!" She said squeezing my cheeks. "I haven't seen you in forever darling!" She said and hugged me tight once again making me laugh. "What made you come back Elizabeth?" She asked me while handing the other girls their Starbucks. "We decided to come back. Arizona was amazing, but California feels more like home" I said. "It's good to see you again, did you wanna talk to me about something?" Nicole asked me while she sat down next to me. "Well I am searching for a job" I said with a little smile. "You wanna work here?" She smiled. "I would love to" I said. "Can you come here tomorrow for your first day?, you will work with another girl named Bella and Catherine. They will explain everything" Nicole said and wrote it down on a note. "Wait are you serious?" I said with my mouth wide open. "Elizabeth you've always been a sweetheart, I know you. I would love you to be a part of the team." She winked and gave me the note with the time for my work day. "Thank you, thank you, thank you Nicole!!" I said and hugged her tight making the other girls laugh.
