Adeline's Reign

Normal at least for me

When Adeline woke up she had a throbbing headache and was on the Torchwood couch. " What happened?" She groaned. " You kinda went a little weird turned into Corrine. You're fine though we would of had you with Owen, but he's looking at a dead body." Jack told her as he sat next to her. Just then Martha walked in and she immeditley ran over to her.
" Adeline it's so good to see you. I was worried when the first thing I see in here is you passed out with no good explanation." Martha said motherly and Adeline rolled her eyes. " I'm an alien princess with more powers then she can keep track of Martha I'm fine. So what are you doing here Martha?" Adeline said hugging the old companion of The Doctor. " Jack asked me to come look at a alien related death." Martha said with a small smile. " Have fun with that I'm going to go talk to Aliyah." Adeline told them before heading to the small little alcove Aliyah had made in the archives. " Jackson it's good to see you've recovered from your past." Aliyah said giving her a grin.
" Yeah well no one has it worst then me when it comes to that area. Have you met Martha yet?" Adeline asked as she grabbed the hot chocolate Aliyah had been making for herself and started drinking it with a small smile. " I haven't had the pleasure yet and I hope you know you're going to have to make me another hot choclate." Aliyah said smartly. " Later right now I have to interduce you to Martha." Adeline smiled dragging Aliyah into Owen's lab where everyone was just leaving. " I was wondering where you went and this is?" Martha asked as she came out with Jack. " Right Martha meet Aliyah Campbell and Aliyah meet Dr Martha Jones a good friend of mine when I was traveling." Adeline interduced.
" It's my pleasure." Aliyah said shaking Martha's hand. " Aliyah can you help me with this?" Tosh asked from the computer and Aliyah left them and the three went up to the higher levels. " You can't believe how good it is to see you." Adeline sighed letting her facade drop as it was just Jack and Martha. " How's the family?" Jack added. " They send their love and it's good to see you again too." Martha replied. " So you did come to see me! See Addie it's the jawline." Jack declared with a victorious smirk before rushing off. " So you and Jack are pretty close." Gwen's voice asked as she joined them. " yeah there was a couple of days where it got pretty intimate though." Martha responded and Adeline face palmed at Gwen's face. " Not like that Gwen you and Martha are probably the only girls who haven't fallen under his charms." Adeline said with a roll of her eyes.
" You like him!" Martha grinned wide eyed as Adeline turned bright red. She couldn't respond as Jack asked if they were talking about him. " No I was telling them about my sister Kathleen." Adeline lied perfectly and Jack frowned. " How come they get to know?" He whined. " They didn't ask now why don't you all join Owen I've got work." Adeline told them as she walked off making sure no one saw her growing red face. She walked out to the gym that she went to keep herself in shape. It was an hour before Jack called her. " What's up?" She asked. " We have something for you to look at of alien origin." Jack told her. Adeline hung up and made her way to the Torchwood industry. " Tell me everything." Adeline said as she walked into the meeting room. " All the victims had incurable things and our last victim had survived from HIV without any sign of it in her bloodstream." Owen explained. "Well that's only possible for a select portion of aliens. My people could do that, Primordials, the Cayth specialized in extraordinary healing, those cat hybrids from New New York but there not in this time stream, Kionia have a cure probably, and Mayflies." Adeline said as Owen showed her a picture of a mayfly. " Yeah their mayflies where did you find this?" Adeline questioned. " They flew out of the HIV victim. She got them from the Pharm."Martha responded. " I know that name it's a medical facility ran by Professor Aaron Copley one of the best in his field." Aliyah replied with a smirk as they all stared at her. " Well then you have a place to be and I'll be waiting here when you need me." Adeline told Jack and he and Owen left. It was 20 awkward minutes later when they returned. " They wouldn't give us anything." Jack sighed frustrated as Tosh told him what Ianto found. " That doesn't help unless we have someone go undercover and they would have to be a medic which Owen is already recognisable." Adeline finished. " I could do it. I have a almost identical structure to normal humans so identical I'm basically perfectly healthy." Aliyah told them and Adeline glared at her. " Your not going in." Adeline stated. " No I can do it. I've studied medical my whole life it's what my people do since our mind powers make the learning easy and the treatments just as easy. Please just let me do this one thing Corrine." Aliyah pleaded and Adeline's eyes softened at her real name. " Fine, but any sign of trouble and I'm pulling you out." Adeline relented. Aliyah grinned before setting off with the special contacts. Tosh worked the computer and they all just watched nervously as Aliyah did her work until lying about having hepatitis. After that Adeline went to Aliyah's little alcove looking through the album she kept for 5 minutes before rejoining with Owen watching Aliyah do her work. They got some info and it was going well until their contact with Aliyah went black. " Adeline is your psychic connection still good?" Jack asked her. " She's alive, but we need to go. Owen bring the  singularity scalpel we may need it." Adeline ordered, but Jack stopped her. " We can't not yet." He told her. " You can't make me stay." Adeline said and she started to leave. She heard Jack mutter sorry before everything turned black. When she woke up Jack was slightly bloody and Owen was holding the  singularity scalpel looking slightly embarrassed. " You ready to go?" Adeline asked and Jack nodded before they all left in the Torchwood van. When they get there Adeline goes with Tosh, Ianto, and Gwen to find the research labs while him, Owen, and Martha went after Aliyah. Adeline wasn't the happiest with this, but it was probably for the better. They took around 10 minutes to get to the lab where tons of alien life was being held captive and tortured. " This is horrible." Adeline gasped looking at all of the captive aliens her telepathy picking up on their immense sadness and pain. "At least we know the truth now." Gwen tried to comfort her and Ianto just laid a hand on her shoulder. " I guess we got to be glad that Aliyah wasn't here her psychic abilities would of overwhelmed her in here." Adeline tried to smile, but it didn't feel right. They shut everything down and when they came back out to the van Owen and Dr Copley were laying on the floor. Owen wasn't moving and was deathly pale. " He's dead isn't he?" Adeline asked Jack and he didn't answer. " He saved my life this is my fault Jack. I'm truly sorry." Martha sobbed as everyone else cried. "Jackson-" Aliyah started, but Adeline cut her off. " Don't even start it Aliyah. This is my fault and you know it." Adeline glared at her best friend her eyes watering. " Addie you weren't even here when it happened if it's anyone's fault it's mine." Jack reasoned. " You don't understand Jack anyone I get close to dies. You wonder why Panic left or why I was completely alone when you met me or why there's no one you can contact that knows anything about me. This is why, because my father will never let me have anything good. At least not for long!" Adeline shouted tears cascaded down her cheeks and before anyone could say anything else she took off running knowing no one would be able to catch her.
