Lele's POV

The drive back home was extremely awkward. For Derek, anyways. I sent him occasional glares, while the full time job was fulfilled by Hannah and Inanna. I could almost read their minds:

Oh, your uncomfortable, Derek? Good.

I smile at my friends ability to somehow be so immature and serious at the same time.

They never fail to amuse me.

Mom and Dad are both on business trips. Well, my dad is. My mom? Don't know don't care.

Probably hitting it off with some guy while she's supposed to be on her shift as a barista, or whatever she is.

"Where are we going?" Derek asks.

The confusion must have been eating him alive. I'm surprised he hasn't asked any questions. (Until now)

"My place," I answer simply. I'm really dreading his reaction when he realizes I'm living with someone. Especially since it's a guy.

Although it's only around 3, the sky's already covered in a thick layer of dark clouds. I pull into the large parking lot, full of cars that clearly have had their fair share of attention. Anyone who lives around here has a car that gets polished all the time, gets cleaned by 'professionals,' and has no dirt whatsoever.

Derek gazes at the cars as if they were made of pure gold. He falls behind a little while admiring his surroundings.

As we reach the lobby, a lady, who I'm pretty sure is one of the neighbors who wanted to meet me, walks up to us.

"Your Mr. Zurita's wife, aren't you?" She smiles.

"Wife?!" Derek raises his eyebrows. I can almost see his anger radiating out of him.

"We're not married," I explain.

"Who's this?" She gives Derek another huge smile.

"That's my brother, Derek," I say.

Wife...?

Once I realize I'm probably blushing, I cut the conversation.

"Nice to meet you, but we really have to get going."

"Of course! Nice to meet you too, I'll see you later kids," She gives an understanding smile, and walks off to talk to the people in the cafe.

"This place has a cafe?" Derek looks around in amazement.

"And a pool, bar, gym, spa, jacuzzi, gift shops, restaurants, you know."
