Lele's POV
*Back To Present*
I call an uber and hand the driver my phone so they could see the address. Not really sure how to pronounce the street name.
After they drop me off, I see a concrete building that looks like a factory or something. Seriously? I'm not in a movie, please don't tell me I'm going into an abandoned warehouse, that would be a little much.
I call Jason, who tells me to go inside.
I cautiously walk towards the entrance- a dark metal door with a silver handle.
I peek inside, where a faint light comes a few dimmed lights on the ceiling.
Creepy much?
Why couldn't he have talked to me on the phone? A coffee shop would be nice, too. 😑
A dark figure leans against the opposite wall, causing me to pull out a pocket knife. Yeah, I came prepared. Not that I could really do any damage with it, but at least it's better than nothing.
"Put the knife away, Lele," Jason walks to the middle of the room.
"Can you blame me? And don't walk around like that, it's creepy," I complain.
"You wanted to talk to me?" I just wanna get straight to the point.
"Yeah," He comes a little closer.
"Dude, why couldn't you have picked a nice little cafe or somewhere that doesn't look like an abandoned warehouse?"
"Because, Lele. Your the only one I trust with this, I need to get it off my conscience."
Oh my god, just tell me.
"Trust with what, Jason? Your kinda scaring me..."
"Well, You know how me and Carolyn are dating, right?" He paces nervously. I nod.
"And the whole thing with Carly, and Jayla..." He trails off.
Spit it out, dude.
"Well, me a-" He stops.
"What?" I ask sighing, becoming impatient.
"Do you hear that?" He walks around. I hear nothing. Suddenly, the lights flick off and I'm surrounded in darkness. My heart starts beating faster, and it feels like my stomach has formed a black hole that's creating a bottomless pit.
"Lele?" Jason asks. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. What the heck just happened?"
Derek's POV
"How the hell are we supposed to get inside?"Juanpa sighs in frustration. He runs his hand through his hair and rests it in his palm.
"Chill, dude. She's gonna be fine," I assure him.
"And what if she's not? What if we're too late? What are we supposed to do then?" He asks. It sounds like he's asking himself more than me.
