The boys, their wives and their children sat in the lair all playing together. Now at seven years of age, the cousins were a bit more difficult to handle. "Smile, everyone!" Leo called as he held up a camera to take a picture. All the children grinned, except for Yuko who just smirked. Danielle made sure she smiled really wide to show off the gap in her tooth, a product of the diastema inherited from her father. The twins clutched each other tightly in a fun kind of way to show that they couldn't be separated. And Carter gave an average smile.
"Hey, guys. Long time no see." Everyone turned around to see April and Casey standing in the doorway of the lair, their seven year old son Kyle  holding April's hand. He possessed April's bangs, Blue eyes and freckles. He also had Casey's jet Black hair. April kneeled down to her son's level. "Alright now, Kyle. Go play with your friends." April said, kissing his cheek. He grinned and dashed off to go play with the cousins who were very excited to see him after his one month absence.
"Hey.... Uh, dudes, can we talk to you for a sec?" Casey asked. "You too, girls." April added. They cast a glance at their son before ushering everyone by the turnstiles. "So, um...Casey and I have been thinking. This life is amazing. All the missions, the mutants, the history, but...." April's voice faded off a little. Casey cleared his throat before beginning. "We want Kyle to grow up with something a little less dangerous. Ya know, keep him protected." Everyone raised brow/eye ridge.
"We want to make sure our son has the best life we can give him. And that includes making sure he doesn't run toward danger and risk his life for the world all the time like we did." April added. "Unfortunately, that means that we'll have to make sure he forgets you guys." Casey said sadly. "Wait, wait, wait...what so you mean forget us?" Olivia asked. "Well have to cut all contact with you. Get rid of all the photos, Don't mention you at all etc. We'll basically become normal everyday citizens, I guess." April frowned. "All in the name of protecting your son?" Raph finished. Casey nodded. "Well, we have to respect their choice. We can't change their mind. And honestly, we'd all probably do the same thing in their shoes." Leo reasoned with the devastated group if mutants behind him.
He turned to April and Casey. "One thing we know for sure, we're gonna miss you." April and Casey nodded, while April fought to hold back tears. "Same here, Leo. Same here."
