In the previous chapter: "I think I'm ready to talk..."

---------------------------------------------------------------

"O-Okay," he said.

I think I was making him nervous with all the anticipation. I opened my mouth, but I still couldn't speak. I was so scared that my words refused to form.

"Addi, it's okay, take your time," Tal suggested.

"I-I want to know who my birth parents are... where they are.... why they...." I stopped.

"Why they what...?" Tal frowned in concern.

"Wh-Why they... l-left me..." A salty tear rolled down my cheek. I didn't want to hurt Tal's feelings, but I have the right to know.

"Oh, Addi...." he frowned, pulling me in for a hug, "I don't know the answer to that... I'm really sorry..."

I hugged him back, still crying. "It's okay...."

"But," he said, wiping my face, "We will do everything they can to find things out."

I nodded my head. "Okay."
