"Please open up... its important," I reasoned with her. A chain clicked, and the knob twisted. The door slid open with a squeak. "Yes?" She looked at me with a grin.

"M-Mia?... Mia Rose Coy?" I stammered. Her jaw dropped open.

"Y-yes. H-how do you know my name?" she looked confused.

I handed her my files from the orphanage. "I'm your daughter. My name is Adaline May Fi-" I stopped myself, "Briddge".

One single tear rolled down her perfectly toned cheek. She looked behind her and called, "A-Avon! Come quick!" A tall man with cinnamon-colored hair appeared next to her. Mia showed him the files. He took one glance at her, and one glance at me.

That's how I knew.

"S-sweetheart... "he looked at me with hope, "please, come in. Come into.."

I cut him off.

"Home."
