The exams continued on smoothly.

The grounds were filled with cheering students. By then, most of the students had already beaten their opponents from other classes and were successfully promoted.

From tomorrow onwards, it was expected for the students to compete against each other in the same class. However, everyone was still comrades for now. In these last two days, their bonds appeared to have deepened, but it was the opposite for Mikan and Guren.

Among the students of her class, Mikan stood alone with her expressionless face as always. She then looked up into the sky.

Today's weather was the same. A beautiful blue sky without any clouds in the sky.

Ironically, students were fighting to the death against each other under this sky.

Although it was not brutal as a human experiment, there would be at least one death every two or three years.

The brunette couldn't come to criticize them as it was equally dangerous to what her clan had practiced along the years.

"Oh, Tachibana. Where is Rei-chan?" A surprised voice came from behind. She turned her face and saw the blond who fought with her attendant yesterday.

"I thought I would meet her if I found ya." Goshi seemed disappointed.

"...She had some things to do."

This morning, her retainers finished their matches early, so they were now paying a visit to Sayuri who was hospitalized.

At first, they were quite reluctant because it would mean leaving Mikan alone at school. Nonetheless, she told them to go. If they didn't, they would keep worrying anyways and get distracted.

Goshi just hummed in response and then looked at Mikan while they stood in silence.

"...Could you leave me alone?" The brunette felt his eyes on her.

"Nah, I want to keep you company."

"Huh?" She frowned in caution. There was no reason for him to stay with a lowly person like her.

'What is he planning to do?' Mikan eyed him with suspicion.

"I can't leave such a beautiful girl alone." Goshi complimented her with a wink.

Soon after, a strong jab went to his stomach to which he groaned in pain. Mikan snapped out from her trance once she realized what she had done.

"Ah, sorry." Despite her apology, there was no traces of guilt in her features. She felt stupid for being wary of someone like him.

"Do you even mean it?" He managed to mutter out as he placed his arms on his stomach.

"Actually, I take it back. I don't feel sorry at all." She blurted out.

"Hmph, you're at fault, Goshi. That's what you get for flirting with her." A red-haired female joined in their conversation. "Better think before you act."

"Haha...I will keep that in mind, Mito. For the sake of my life." Goshi mumbled the last sentence low enough to not be heard.

Mikan glanced at their surroundings. Luckily, it seemed like nobody had witnessed their interaction as everyone had all their attention to the ongoing matches.
