she was the girl who had too many markers.

he was the boy who had none.

"can i borrow a coloured pen?"

she looked up at chittaphon and blinked once before shaking her head and looking back down at the giant A in the corner of her final test.

"you have like, eighty pens or something. i'll give it back."

"no."

"please?"

"no."

"please?"

"no."

"please?"

"no."

"i'll tell the teachers you cheated."

"they won't beli-"

"i have proof."

sunhee grabbed the nearest pen and handed it to him.

"keep it. just go away."

smiling, chittaphon happily took the red pen and wandered back to his desk. at the top of the page titled 'ASSESSMENT FEEDBACK' was a sentence.

'what went well?' it said in black, block letters.

narrowing his eyes at it, chittaphon uncapped the red marker and scribbled over the last word a few times, above it, writing 'wrong'.

he placed the marker down and looked at the sentence.

'what went wrong?'

he looked at the F in the corner then in scruffy handwriting, wrote 'EVERYTHING'.
