"Come on!" The Doctor whacked the Sonic Screwdriver against Bill's head. Sparks flew and Bill cried out.
"Ouch! What was that for?" She asked The Doctor.
"To make it work" The Doctor explained in his usual vague way.
"Make what work? Your screwdriver or my brains?"
"Both" He answered "And it isn't just any screwdriver. It is a Sonic Screwdriver!"
"What's wrong with it?" Bill asked.
"Nothing, other than it has been taking us all over town and we still haven't found the Tardis." Bill had to restrain herself from saying "told you so!"
The sun seemed to be focusing all its light into Bill's eyes. She sat down exhausted on the park bench where they had ended up.
"Can I borrow your sunglasses?" Bill asked The Doctor.
"No."
"Please! It's so bright," she begged. The Doctor raised his hidden eyes to the heavens and handed over the sunglasses.
"Thanks!" she exclaimed and put them on. "Wow!"
"Don't watch youtube, it wastes the energy." Bill looked over at him and gasped.
"Doctor! It's glowing!" The Doctor sighed.
"Here we go again." They followed the Sonic Screwdriver down the park path and over to the old Rest Home next to the park. Bill stopped at the gates but The Doctor, not seeing them continued onto the grounds.
"Hey, doctor!" Bill shouted "wait" The Doctor continued. He didn't seem to hear. Bill sighed and followed The Doctor.
"You're not only blind," she muttered under her breath. The Doctor strode over to the door and walked into it.
"Door," he said and knocked. A robust woman who looked grumpy to be interrupted opened the door.
"Hello, how can I help you?" she asked. The Doctor held up his psychic paper.
"Oh, ok. You're a doctor. Yes, we have a problem. Come in" The doctor felt his way into the Rest Home and Bill came running over. "I'm his.......companion," she said and entered after The Doctor.
"Where are we?" He asked out of the corner of his mouth.
"A retirement village" Bill whispered back.
"Oh no!"
"What's wrong with that?"
"Oh, bad experiences with fire-breathing old people" He explained.
Bill looked around. She could see corridors no doubt leading off to the occupant's rooms. It was a fancy place. There were many expensive looking decorations. But what caught Bill's eyes was a blue box.
"Doctor! I can see the Tardis!" The Doctor straightened up. He was about to reply when a voice cut him off.
"Yes." Another woman had entered the room and she was talking "But you can't have it yet. We have been expecting you Doctor."
"How I hate it when they say that" The Doctor muttered.
