"Hey guys," greeted the smiling face, "and welcome to..."
Stephanie carefully watched her husband.
Matt wiggled his eyebrows at his wife.
She wiggled back.
"...Gtlive," he finished, allowing them both to move again.
"Gtlive?" echoed Stephanie. "Wasn't that show cancelled?"
"Why so it was," agreed Matthew. "A year ago today."
"Wow," Steph feigned surprised.
"Why don't you inform everyone on why that happened?"
"Can't you?"
Matt laughed. "No, I, uh, I can't remember."
Steph giggled in turn. "Well, I should probably tell them what happened."
"Yes you should."
She sat there, staring into her husband's eyes for a few seconds before jerking to the camera and clapping her hands. "Story time!" she introduced.
*
It all started when they took a break to go to Las Vegas. And, well, there's only one thing to do in Vegas. All of the casino's encouraged it. It was clear to everyone driving down Fremont Street. She remembered the night it all started.
They had rented an Uber, just so it could be easier. Matthew, even though he had been before, was staring out the window, watching the lights. Steph was watching the light reflect in his eyes. And they were both smiling.
"Pull over here," Matthew directed. The car came to a stop and, confused, Stephanie followed her husband.
"What are we doing?" she asked. "I thought we were going to-"
She stopped, seeing his eyes sparkle when he looked down at her. "Oh c'mon," he grinned. "We can live a bit."
"What about going to the new Freddy's-"
"Oh screw Five Nights at Freddy's!" Matthew swore.
They stood in silence for a few seconds.
"You've been wanting to say that for a while, haven't you?" checked Stephanie.
"Yes," MatPat agreed, taking a deep breath.
"Did it feel good?"
"So good."
"You really wanna go to a casino?"
"Yes!" he smiled.
She looked unconvinced.
"C'mon Steph. $200. We'll never get it back, but we'll have fun."
The female theorist, stared up at the entrepreneur. "Alright."
"Yay!" Matt celebrated, jumping up a bit.
"But I'm placing the first bet."
Thus began a night to remember. Two drinks. One for Steph, one for Matt. They probably weren't the most professional looking people, walking into a casino with a polo, blue jeans, and a blouse.
Their standing wasn't improved when they both tried to take a drink of the potent alcohol. After choking down a couple sips, they headed onto the floor. True to her word, Stephanie put her first bet on the roulette wheel. Five dollars on even numbers.
Thus the tone of the night was set when they ended up doubling 50 dollars into $100 after a while at the roulette wheel. Lost $20 at Blackjack, gained $30 at crapes, a couple of different games of poker leading to losing $50 dollars.
