After a while, they arrived outside a private park near a church. The gates were locked. “Anong ginagawa natin dito?” Sarah asked.
Gerald: “May park jan sa likod. Aakyatin nga lang natin un pader, pero madali lang naman. Ano game ka?”
(Geralds POV: God! Thank you! Hindi na ko nauutal)
Sarah: “teka, magnanakaw ka ba? Eh kaya nga nakalock ung gate kasi bawal pumasok!”
Gerald: “Hindi ako magnanakaw. Dito ako pumupunta kapag may problema ako, wala namang huhuli satin dito. Pero kung ayaw mo naman, ok lang. tutal tapos naman na yung kailangan kong gawin para mapatawad mo ako diba?” He then started to climb the wall.
Gerald got to the other side safely. Thinking that his responsibilities towards her were over he started to walk away, then after a while he heard her shoes hit the ground, he turned around and saw her landing on her feet. “Wow. Ang ganda naman dito” She said softly. He was stunned, there she was, a superstar climbing a wall without her shoes on and breaking rules with him. “Astig” he whispered to himself with a smile on his face.
“Tara! Tatayo ka lang ba jan?” she took her shoes and pulled him. “Ang ganda dito, now I know kung bakit dito ka pumupunta kapag may problema ka.” She looked at him “Salamat ha. I needed this.” She said and sat on the grass then gazed at the night sky.
Gerald was only looking at her, admiring her.
(Geralds POV: Ang ganda pala talaga niya, mas maganda pa nga kesa kanina nung naka make up siya. Mas gusto ko tong ganito siya, mukha siyang ordinaryong tao tulad ko. Pati suot niya, nakapantalon at shirt lang. Ang simple niya. God! She’s beautiful.)
He looked at her questioningly.
Sarah smiled. “Masakit pa eh. Masakit pa dito” she said while pointing where her heart was.
*Silence
He remembered his mother’s letter for Sarah; He took it out of his pocket and handed it to her. “ano yan?” she asked him.
Gerald: “My mom wants me to give you this; she’s actually the reason why I came as your date. She’s a big fan of yours. Well, big is an understatement, she’s a HUGE fan of yours. She loves you.”
She took it, and started to read it since there was a light post near them, she can read it clearly.
(Geralds POV: wow, she’s actually crying while reading moms letter? Not only that, she’s laughing too! She’s really SOMETHING.)
After reading the letter, she folded it and kept it in her back pocket. Gerald was looking intently at her when she saw him, “Matunaw” she chuckled. Gerald then focused his sight forward; he scratched his head “sorry, I can’t help it. Ganda mo kasi eh”. She immediately striked Gerald’s arm “Bolero” and started laughing. They talked and shared stories to each other; Sarah wasn’t her shy self and Gerald wasn’t cool and cocky like he used to. They were two honest strangers, exposed.
