-Grinch in a Winter Wonderland-
∞
"Sleigh bells riiiiiiiiing, are you listening? In the laaaaaane, snow is glistening! A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight, walking in a winter wonderland~"
Diana twirled around the kitchen, a wooden spoon dripping with something sickeningly sweet clutched as a makeshift microphone as she chanted out the Christmas carol with no fear of being heard. The girl was stationed in the kitchen of her family's two-story home preparing her contributions to the annual celebratory feast. Her mother chuckled at the sight of her swaying around with a mixing bowl tucked in one arm, while she herself passed the child to make herself a cup of tea to try and help fight the biting cold.
"Gone awaaaaay is the blue bird, here to staaaayyyy is the new bird, he sings a love song, as we go along, walking in a winter wonderlaaaand."
Another twirl landed her next to her mom, careful not to spill any of the contents of her bowl."In the meadow we can build a snowman,"
Diana playfully shoved the spoon towards the woman who looked very much like an older version of herself, the glistening in her eye making it clear without words that the youngster wanted her to continue on.
With a roll of her eyes, yet a smirk plastered on her lips, she quickly adhered to her daughter's wishes singing, "Then pretend that he is Parson Brown~"
Satisfied that her mother was now participating in her Christmas joy, Diana returned the spoon to the bowl to continue mixing her concoction, as the two women kept on cheerfully with their tune.Neither one was deterred in the slightest when the front door opened to let three rowdy boys into the home, nor when these boys uttered comments such as 'man, it sounds like someone's dying in here!', and 'do you think we should call for help?!'
In fact, that kind of heckling just led to the girls becoming louder and their grins becoming wider while they twirled around the room and in Diana's case, towards the boys. The young brunette who had just entered with his two friends beside him wanted desperately to roll his eyes and continue to mock his sister, but as it was, Sora had as much love for the Christmas holiday season as Di did, so it didn't take him long before he too was dancing through the entryway and into the kitchen to join his family in their carolling. This left his two friends facing off with his still singing sister, the blonde with his hands in his pockets and a somewhat amused smirk on his face, and the silverette with his arms crossed and an eyebrow raised, with a look that said 'not a chance in hell'.
Knowing her audience, -perhaps a little too well- Diana put on her best puppy dog eyes and pout as the volume of her singing dropped to just above a whisper and her dancing shifted to muted swaying. Within seconds, she watched as Roxas' stance broke and with a somewhat sheepish look he joined in too with a hushed voice, causing the girl to instantly brighten and grin ear to ear while she snatched his hand from his pocket and sticking her tongue out at the remaining boy, knowing full-well he'd never join in on her shenanigans. Roxas gave a half shrug to the boy behind him and a look reading, 'it's kind of your own fault', as Diana led him fully into the kitchen where she placed the bowl that had been clutched in her other hand down on the bench so she could properly join in with her brother's wild dancing. Roxas dipped his finger into the mixing bowl and stole a taste of whatever Christmas-y creation his kidnapper was making and leaned back against another bench, keeping his singing as his only contribution to the madness, which was thankfully good enough for his friends.
